I requested a wash and blow-dry, flat iron and trim. The wash and blow dry went well and the student was learning with my hair which I was definitely fine with and actually helped.
The problem came when a student added oil to my hair before flat iron which made my hair clump and obviously oily. Then another student didn't know how to trim hair. One side was done by the instructor and looked fine, the other side was done by the student and she was struggling on how to hold the hair when cutting. The instructor assisted for a moment but then left, came back and adjusted her hand and where she was standing to trim the hair after that she left again.
I looked at the left side of my hair and see it was a bit shorter on the left side so I stopped the student and the instructor came over and I told her that it looked bizarre compared to the right side. Overall, she made it seem like it wasn't a big deal then she tried to cut a bit more on the left, pulled the crown of my hair up to check the length to which she agreed. Then she procced to say that my hair had a "blunt cut." I don't know what that mean but all I know that my left side of my hair is shorter and uneven layers because how the student angle the cuts. She said the only way to fix it is to cut my hair shorter and I said no thank you because it took me 3 years to get to shoulder length.
When I get to the register, I asked the other student who helped me iron my hair and I asked her " does this side look shorter?" and she said yes. I told the front desk person about my hair and the instructor kept coming back and forth to the desk seeing what I was going to say about it I believe.
I went to pay and I was charged an extra $4 because I had my hair trimmed at an angle but guess what? There are two types of trims. 1. Angle cut which is $18 because it requires more "technique" and 2. The BOB Cut which is $14 because it just cutting the ends all around...no pulling up hair or nothing just a straight shot cut around the head.
I requested a trim but I wasn't told or given the option of which trims I wanted since it was my first time there. The instructor just started cutting my hair at an angle. I think the student and/or the instructor should notify the customer of the two types of trims. Well, the front desk lady basically said " Well, for future reference there are two different trims."
The service was good but I wasn't satisfied with the trim for obvious reasons. I wish the trim charged was knocked off for the bad cut on the left side of my hair. Serious, if the student isn't even standing in the right position of trimming then they need to still practice on the doll head not on OUR head. The instructor saw this, reposition her hand and physically moved her body into position to cut. I wish the instructor took controlled of this preventable situation.
I know that we're paying for student work but practicing bad cuts on our head an instructor not taking control of situation that was preventable is sad. We pay money...
Read moreEveryoneâs experience is different but mine was not great at all. They misguided me throughout my whole enrollment process. Somebody like me who came in with a very positive mindset of being able to start & try something new, did not see something like this happening. At the start of the first day, though I was still waiting⌠they told me I had nothing to worry about. Everyone had received their kits & iPads⌠& instead of giving me something to do, I was just sitting there doing absolutely nothing for the 4:30 hours. (Only completing my hours & doing no amount of work only to fall behind, is a completely waste of my time) & for some reason they werenât able to understand that. I received a call the next day & was told that my aid was still processing & therefore Iâd have to wait longer to receive everything. I then mentioned I rather change my start date because I was uncomfortable & would rather wait to have everything together. What was very disappointing was the amount of disorganization there was from the miscommunication within the staff regarding the expectations of a student during the whole process. On my first day it was obvious that the support team/ orientation coordinator wasnât aware of my start day & said it was a bad time for me to have come in earlier than class schedule with the impression that I was going to have a tour of the school. Of course she didnât say that to me, but the bad energy I was getting from the staff was very noticeable. After explaining how I was a little bit discourage my admissions advisor insisted Iâd stay & said I will be given an alternative paper book form in order for me to complete my assignment & be able to follow along with the rest of the class. As soon as I got there, the campus director asked if I had a mask so that I can scoot over & share off of one of the girls. When I told her I didnât have a mask, she said she would have to get one for me. Because she never left the room to get one, she had everyone google everything instead. & had us write exactly what was off google instead of her teaching the class. Many other things contributed to my experience at Tricoci University. I felt very disrespected because my feelings as a student were ignored & simply misguided. I do thank the financial coordinator Justine, for her help! she never promised me anything she knew was out of her hands. I do not recommend this school to anyone, & if I could rate it zero...
Read moreI recently indulged in the ultimate pampering session at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture Chicago with their signature facial treatment, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was serene and inviting, instantly putting me at ease.
The treatment itself was nothing short of exceptional. Ciarrah Kile began with a thorough consultation to understand my skin concerns and preferences. She then tailored the entire experience to address my specific needs, using a combination of high-quality products that left my skin feeling rejuvenated and radiant.
The facial included a series of luxurious steps: gentle cleansing, exfoliation with botanical extracts, a soothing mask that smelled divine, and a relaxing massage that melted away any tension I had been carrying. Throughout the process, the esthetician explained each step and checked in to ensure I was comfortable.
What truly stood out was the attention to detail and the personalized care I received. Every product used felt luxurious and effective, leaving my skin visibly brighter and smoother by the end of the session.
After the treatment, I couldn't stop admiring my glowing complexion in the mirror. The effects were making me feel more confident and refreshed.
In conclusion, the facial by Ciarrah Kile was more than just a skincare treatment; it was a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to treat themselves to a truly luxurious experience that revitalizes both body and mind. The students are learning the skills needed to be successful in their future careers as...
