A little restaurant that could be great but failed. They've got a beautiful set up. . . but marginal food. I hate to leave a low rating, but I have to tell the truth!
First off, I think the good part about the restaurant is the inside is decorated pretty. They are located at the end corner space of that strip of the mall, so there is a great little patio. If I remember correctly, there (is) dining in the patio too. Also the inside interior decorating is attractive, with gorgeous wood tables. For my meal I had the lunch special because I didn't have time for a lot, and I wanted to try this restaurant out. For my meal I think I had the Garlic Chicken. It comes with rice, a side salad, and two wontons. It was flavorless though. My dish was overloaded with water chestnut slices, onions, and those awful pre-cut / pre-packaged thin sliced carrots - that are always so tough, you can't even chew them! They need to use (real), fresh carrots. I (do) like onions, and water chestnuts, and carrots too for that matter, but it had way too much of these, compared to the chicken slices. It did have enough chicken (slices) for me, but sadly these were a little dry, and lacking much flavor too - with very little if any seasoning. Also, I think the dish could have had a little more sauce, but the sauce lacked flavor. You could barely taste any contrasting flavor in what little sauce was in it. The whole dish wasn't seasoned much at all. The little side salad was perky, and I thought it was nice. But I honestly saw what appeared to be kind of old pieces of pineapple in it. It's too bad too, because otherwise, the little side salad would be good. To their credit, the fried wontons were fresh, warm, and tasted good. Those I (liked).
The older lady is pleasant, but infortunately it could not make up for the lacking in the food. I hope this restaurant improves because I think Dragonfly Thai has potential to be fantastic! They just...
Read moreI am just coming from that restaurant. The owner of the restaurant is awful, tall, semi-balded, fat, white race man with horrible behaviour - very rude. I ordered a dinner. He charged me for it and told me to choose the table. I sat at one table and he brought me my dinner in the box and in plastic bag. I told him I didn't order my dinner for to go but he told me: "We're closing in fifteen minutes."
Why didn't he tell me that before he took my credit card?
Then he dared to add the following: "YOU CAN EAT A PART OF WHAT'S IN THE BOX HERE AND THE OTHER PART OUTSIDE."
DO YOU, GUYS, BELIEVE THIS?!
THIS WAS A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE OF MINE! I was so stupid for I didn't tell him to return me my money and for I didn't spill the whole box into his face.
No one deserves to be treated this way. It was so disgusting, so rude, so without a bit of culture, so unprofessional! He acted like the worst possible maniac from the street.
Instead of coming here to eat, find some other Thai food restaurant and be nicely treated.
He is an awful, evil...
Read moreThis is Americanized, uninspired “Thai” food. Not the real deal folks. There’s plenty of Thai restaurants in the Southbay that are more authentic than this. I ordered from here because it was the only place open at 4 pm on DoorDash and I was craving Thai barbecued chicken with spicy dipping sauce, and some pad Thai.noodles. I had to add my own chili sambal to give the noodles any flavor at all with their limp overcooked vegetables. The chicken was tender and that’s about all I can say for it. It wasn’t very flavorful, and the dipping sauce was even less flavorful. It’s supposed to be somewhat gooey and very spicy and it was neither. Just bland. It was just a red liquid that tasted nothing like the BBQ chicken dipping sauces I’m familiar with. It should be sweet and sour and very fiery. The whole thing just didn’t feel very fresh or tasty, and I would not order from this place again. Very...
