The Home Depot here in Roswell isn't anything like the other Home Depots I've been to. They sell items & extra coverage for them but do NOT carry the accessories needed to care for the items (i.e. Bought a Hessaire evaporative cooler last summer. It requires cleaning of the water tank, pads, vents and interior plastic hoses. I use vinegar regularly when filling it for hard water buildup. Once every other month the machine needs a treatment for the hard water & all the other stuff that goes through the pads (filters). When I purchased this I also got tablets (2/ for the water, 1 extra set of pads (last 1 there was) and the service plan. Now this summer they are selling the same cooler but they no longer carry anything else for it? What they have is for air conditioners. Not only this but my grandson & I went looking for knobs or handles for my end table. I found the handles (somewhere in another bin) but NO screws ? Trying to find someone to help me was next to impossible. When I finally did find an employee he ended up taking off with another customer?!. I still haven't found the right screws so will be going somewhere else. Several items have a very small, narrow, limited selection. I bought a set of 5 ( I think) different wire brushes (not for the grill or as an attachment). Iy was under $10 and have used them numerous occasions for various things. Went to get more & there's no such thing? Not only that but I had to look in 2 separate areas. Now ordering online is actually better depending on what you need. Sometimes there's a discount for doing it this way. But I'm never sure about what I see & what I get. There have been times I just went into the store instead, even though I couldn't find what isle I needed online. Frustrating. Returns are a process & every time I go in home depot there's a line. I had my receipt, all the paperwork that came with the item ,as well as the original box it was in. It took almost 30 mins to be approved. I can't imagine having to keep the original packaging for the stove ( it's rather large) in case I need to take it back? Also when I call regarding my extra coverage it seems all they want to do is replace the item ? Maybe cause it's cheaper & easier I don't know, but if they don't have that item then you are screwed more or less. There's always something else similar ? Anything close usually costs more & you end up paying the difference plus new coverage plan. This hasn't worked out all that we do far for me. There's never anyone available to cut supplies (wood, piping, chain & such) . The wait for a specific person takes a while. I've found that using self checkout is fastest and easiest for me. Only other line open is where the return desk is located. I now use the Ace Hardware store on the north end of town even though it d8cost a few cents more....
Read moreFYI hope it’s helpful to someone; Home Depot in Roswell, NM works with a third party DREAMSTYLE REMOLDING out of Albquerque, NM. Only referring to the cabinet makeover. The associate at Home Depot had excellent customer service. They had a display of beautiful makeover cabinets. From a company called DREAMSTYLE REMOLDING. So she told me about them got my information and gave it to them. So dreamstyle remolding called me set up an appointment for The following Friday. Great happy! The day before they canceled! Cool no problem! They explained that they don’t have an office down here. They don’t want to drive down just for one estimate they would want more than one. Ok understandable makes sense! So they set up a second appointment for the following Friday. They canceled because they said their sells rep called had a family emergency. Ok understandable things happen right? Set up a third appointment for the following Friday. They canceled! Ok set up a forth appointment two hours before the appointment guess what they canceled! They said the sales rep called in sick. So I told them To be honest if they don’t want the job just tell me so I can get someone else because, I told them if I gave you the job. It seems you wouldn’t be reliable to come finish the job. I would not waste my time with dreamstyle remolding. If you live on the southeast side of the state. *Dreamstyle remolding for the bathroom remodel is out of Roswell. Very reliable kept their first appointment. My parents wanted to replace the tub and tile around the bathtub $9,000+ if they paid for it that day. If not over $12,000+. They don’t use tile they use a different product on their walls they say better quality. And yes they offer a great $99 a month for the next 10 years! ** Wanted to share both experiences with dreamstyle remolding. Their work looks very beautiful. I really liked the display at Home Depot. I wish I had the pleasure of...
Read moreI liked Home Depot in Roswell, NM until I kept getting different answers from different associates. The first night my wife and I went in, we asked the flooring associate for a carpet estimate including padding and free installation based on the square footage of our house. He told us something like $3,000 plus tax (based on 944 square feet home). The next day, we went in and asked another associate, and he gave us a number around $4,200 plus tax. Then Edward came and measured our house. He somehow measured 1200 square feet which was totally ridiculous. We were told it would be around $5,500 including tax!
My father and I went back to the house. My father was a general contractor for 8 years. We measured the entire home, including closets and came up with 933 square feet, or 104 square yards. I added the extra ten percent that is to be added for wastage... still the total we calculated was shy of $4,400 before tax. The manager came to the back and we explained that Edward must have made a mistake while measuring. He was off by over 200 square feet. She wouldn't even consider this to be a possibility. They never offered to remeasure or anything. She didn't even make eye contact. Instead, she took a stack of papers from the desk and violently banged them together on the desk.
I worked for a company called Melaleuca that always reinforced how to offer world class customer service. Folks, I can tell you right now THIS IS NOT HOW IT'S DONE! We got up and went to George's Carpet. We found a better carpet, which was thicker, softer, and more luxurious for a thousand dollars less, including the padding and installation. The manager at Home Depot didn't even attempt to offer us any solution whatsoever. When we walked, she looked at us and casually said, "okay."
Do yourself a favor, and find a local carpet shop, like George's Carpet, who has made a name for itself by providing world class...
