i have been going to zigzag hair salon for about 6 years on and off. bc i have moved out of state i usually plan my haircuts around the time i will be visiting jersey. Im not the type that usually writes a review but im in my old stomping grounds and decided to call and make an appointment. So i googled the number and came across some reviews.
Pardon me while I LMAO...
I read the 1 star review and I remember being the girl that sat next to this woman while she was getting her bangs cut. I don't mean to judge but this lady walked in to the salon very off. She must have been going through something traumatic in her life bc it was reflecting in the way she was talking to the hair dresser. she explained one thing to the hair dresser and then would get upset when she received the exact same thing she asked for. I'm telling you had i been the hair dresser i would have sent her home with a Mohawk just for being so annoying...lol. my mom was in the salon with me and as an older Latina woman that stays quiet for no one ... she yells out "well honey, your over reacting and i don't think anyone can get a haircut right on you"...lmbo Needless to say this 1 star is not reflective of the kind of work these artists do. i will travel all around the world and still find myself waiting to fly home so i can get to Zigzag and get...
Read moreAs I was sitting on the styling chair I procured all the choices I had made up that brought me here. I came in a month in advance showed her the color that I wanted (purple) and made my appt and left. The day of there were a lot of people there and she proceeded to bleach my hair very hurriedly and rashly. Then she dyed ny hair to what I thought was purple because that’s what I had shown her and that’s what I asked for. I use glasses so I can’t see very well without them. Until I noticed blue and she then proceeded to gaslight and tell me that the purple would’ve faded to a copper/ red tone… of course it’s going to fade to that color red and blue make up purple. It honestly doesn’t matter what they fade to she should’ve given me what I asked for. I honestly wished I didn’t have to pay for the service but I’m not a confrontational person… my birthday was tomorrow and I wanted to have hair I liked instead I have zebra blue hair these wouldn’t have been good highlights even if it were in a natural tone. I also have inspected the hair more and...
Read moreBeware! I’ve been going here for over 20yrs- from when Willow was the owner. Lia, the new owner, has never been as good as Willow but was decent/cheap enough for cuts & basic highlights… think decent beauty school student level. I don’t know what’s happened to her but she’s gone downhill instead of improving. My last 3 haircuts w style have been terrible- I’m talking choppy and uneven and not what I asked for but heck for $45 I let it go. Till today. I go to my scheduled appointment for highlights w money piece for gray blending that we had already spoken about on phone. Lia then said she didn’t know how well my hair will lift (even though she’s highlighted my hair b4). Lia wanted to charge me $100 to test a strand of hair to see how well it lifts. Who the fk charges for a test strand on top of the $150 for the service? A test strand is standard practice. I drove 30minutes for nothing. I’ll never step foot in that empty stale smelling broken down...
