Recently, a student from this studio invited me to take class. I do not live close (about 25 min away), but yoga with friends is pretty hard to decline. I obliged and ended up booking class. I thought it made sense to buy the 3-class pack versus spending $25 on a drop-in, so I purchased a $50 intro 3- class pack. I attended class with Kristi; she’s a great teacher.
The reason this studio is receiving one star is because of their poor hospitality and customer service. Admittedly, I was late to class twice. Obviously I wanted to take class, but being that I live far and have only been to the studio once I underestimated travel. Today, I attempted to enter class only to find the doors locked not even 5 min after the start time. I stood at the locked door and called in the studio— I could hear the phone ringing but no one even picked up the phone.
While I understand the need to start class on time for the sake of other students, and understand policies need to be in place to be able to run the studio efficiently (I’ve worked the desk at a yoga studio), Fireshaper - Rutherford really showed a lack of grace when it came to offering any accommodation for my situation. I emailed/called the studio explaining what took place, and I received an in compassionate response that the instructor must lock up 2-3 min after class start time and that I would still be charged. I’d have to agree with the previous review that it’s ironic for a yoga studio to conduct business this way. For this reason alone, it makes me feel that this isn’t a studio in line with vibes I’d want.
After sitting in my parking spot for a few, I googled studios nearby. I ended up taking class at Powerflow Yoga in Clifton, where I was able to purchase a 1-week unlimited class pack for $40 (it’s $30 for new students- I have been to Powerflow previously). Great class and they’re welcoming over there.
Unfortunately I will not be back at Fireshaper, and don’t recommend it at all. The juice is not worth...
Read moreI just joined Fire Shaper with a great deal from Groupon (1 month unlimited for only $55) and I have to say I'm super pleased with it so far. I've done yoga in the past but was new to hot yoga and find that this is the perfect place to get into it. The place is very clean and the staff are extremely sweet and accommodating. When you walk in they always greet you with a friendly face and ask if you need anything for the class. I have to say, the manager Leo is particularly gracious and kind because without me asking he went out of his way to put quarters in the meter for me when I was running in late and didn't have quarters... if that's not amazing customer satisfaction/kindness I don't know what is. So far I've taken classes with Irene and Jill and both are very knowledgeable and helpful instructors and I was surprised how much I enjoy each one despite the fact that I'm new and am not the best at yoga. The room can fit a lot of people and there's always enough for everyone so you're not on top of each other. The heat is definitely a lot to handle at first but once you start sweating it is rejuvenating. Each class I've been to left me feeling so refreshed and energized that I don't know what I'm doing to do when my one month ends up, but seeing the benefits already, it might just be a worth it expense. I am excited to try out the rest of the classes but so far I have to say this place is definitely a winner. If you're for an amazing stress-reliever, energy booster, body/mind balancer, and body detoxer...
Read moreDo not book if you are not 100% sure you are going to be on time! Locking doors for being late 3 min? I assume they don’t have enough for paying someone to stay at the front desk. They will have at least 5 min cordiality time as also parking sometimes is hard to find when you book a class around 5 pm on a Friday. Nobody to open the door or pick up the phone, and after reading another review I will completely forget about getting my money back or credit to book another class 👎🏻. I don’t want to sound and I am far from being a Karen, but this is not right at all, first time late to a class and shocking to see that sign. I will use my credit and definitely finding another place. So sad but I am not losing money for 3 min. I am a yoga teacher and I never did this to anyone in my classes before and no one left unhappy. After a long day from work instead on finding peace I left unpleasant and shocked with the lack of...
