Tanzanite Community Park — Attraction in Sacramento

Nice park this is ! They have a covered BBQ area, playground items for the kids, restrooms, a man made lake and a skatepark.

The park appears to be well maintained for the most part and even though this park is next to the freeway it still feels fairly quiet in a nice place to go if you're looking to relax for a few.

I would advise that you be careful of walking and stepping in the " goose fecal matter ", which is just nature being nature. I'm sure the park's maintenance for the city does the best they can but still be careful of stepping in it. Other than that a well rounded enjoyable park that I would recommend. This dog park is tough to find. From the parking lot it is located back behind the skate park about a quarter mile from the parking lot. Not a great layout since you can't see the parking lot from the dog park. The north edge of the fenced in dog play area extends a few hundred yards to the east along the pond. There is a fence so that dogs are not able to get into the water, but that section of the park is not maintained and the weeds are pretty tall. Plus there is no way to keep a dog from running back there. Again, not a great design. But hey, it's an offleash dog park and we can't have too...

Great place to come bring the dog, have a picnic/BBQ, play frisbee, basketball, soccer but they have a skate park that's free as well as a lil fishing pond that has big mouth bass, bluegill, and a few other species of fish...there is a bathroom that's clean, it's well lite and easy to get to from the freeway and surface streets....its in a nice neighborhood that's well kept and looks to be very proud of their community...there's plenty of stuff for the lil ones as well...a big sandbox that has a modern jungle gym with slides and all the fun stuff needed to let them let you enjoy...
