Ramsey County Jury Office — Local services in Saint Paul

This is my 3rd time being selected for jury duty here. Each service was in a different decade. The key to just BE PATIENT! I could not believe how some grown adults act like children. So many questions, when's lunch, when can we leave today, I'm losing $ by being here, the world revolves around me etc... Not to mention some of the clothing I saw worn. Hats and hoodies in a courtroom? WOW! I found a lot of people like to hear themselves talk. I kept looking at the lawyers reaction to some of these people's responses. haha Anyway, it was a nice change that the jury office has you call in after 5pm everyday if not picked on a case. Then you find out what time to show up the next day ONLY if they need you. The staff is helpful and polite. WIFI, TV and work room. There's plenty of breaks and places to roam. I wandered most of the bldg the public can go. Mini museum like. Wander the skyway system, plenty of food options. Interesting all 3 times I served, it's been during the winter carnival so I head over to Rice...

They do not pay for parking, they give a bus pass. What a JOKE. They also don't reimburse for child care or gas or ANYTHING. Its disgusting. I called to reschedule 3 times. 2nd time the system was down and she called back because she "forgot what i called for". She STILL never entered it.

Well i just had to call again!!! i received an e mail that im supposed to be on jury duty on the 3rd. Even though i rescheduled.

The guy answers an confirms that there is NOTHING in the system. He asks why i need to postpone. Im like. . i am going to puerto rico. Than he proceeds to tell me DO NOT schedule a single dr apt. Dentist aot. Kids apts. Or go on a vacation.

Im like dude. This vacation was schedule 3 months BEFORE i received jury duty notice. Come on now you can stop. I know not to schedule anything. Smh and than he hangs up on me. 😆

I got married here! The staff is great and the judge, Judge Star was amazing. She made our experience so special and unforgettable. It was so amazing for a small court wedding.
