Wood Ibis Park — Attraction in Saint Petersburg

Great place for a walk or some leasurely exercise. There is plenty of shade throughout the park, as well as benches, swings, and a even a gazebo for lunch or a relaxing break. Plenty of birds to photograph as well. But watch out, there is the occasional small gator in the pond. The parking area is fairly small but there are other access points in several sides of the park. There is a picnic shelter by the main parking lot as well. Everything was well maintained...

Not a bad park at all. One plus is it has mile markers around the shell based track... I believe 4 laps is 1 mile. It has lots of potential. I think whoever's in charge prefers the more natural old swampish style Florida scenery over new and bright, colorful, eye catching layout. Depending on which side you enter, there are a few swing benches hidden back on the corner store side. Lots of small dog...

A well cared for, beautiful park. Great to meet and chat with residents and visitors walking their dogs. If you pause to look out at the lake, you’ll see all the turtle heads popping up!
