Let me preface this story by saying that my family and I have eaten here multiple times for breakfast and dinner and we’ve always had a good experience. Today was different, my father and I experienced the worst service I’ve had at any restaurant in a long time. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever and we were seated in a far off corner, completely removed from the main dining area on the veranda. There was absolutely no sense of urgency to have food brought to us and I had to ask for an ice water multiple times. There was no silverware on our table when the food was brought to us and we had to ask for that. Our food was cold and my fathers order was wrong. The worst part of the experience was the server who clearly didn’t care about anything. We put the payment card in the tray for her to close out the bill and we waited for over 30 minutes just sitting there while she served every other guest at the restaurant. When she walked over to our table she handed us another check, completely forgetting that we had already handed her the card. At this point, she had lost my fathers credit card and never apologized for it. She and her managers never took ownership for what happened and never apologized to my father or attempted to recover from the situation. After spending about five minutes looking for it, someone found the card inside at the computer. We walked out and my father refused to pay for breakfast. We will not be going back for breakfast going forward. I highly recommend for anyone considering this restaurant for breakfast to look at other options, unless you’re ok with long wait times, incorrect orders, and to have your credit card lost. Very sad for such a...
Read moreVery slow service and had to ask for items repeatedly to get them brought to the table. The food was awful. Waited about a full hour for two breakfast plates to be prepared and served. During the long wait, there was a confrontation between customers because the waitress seated clients who arrived after people who had been waiting. The waiting customer who did not get a seat shamed the couple who knowingly cut her in line and took her table. Both groups of customers ended up leaving. Instead of owning the situation and apologizing for her error, the waitress proceeded to publicly chastise the behavior of the customer who defended her place in line and the wrongdoing of the other customer who cut her group. It was completely unprofessional. We asked the waitress for a straw. She left, returned, and continued discussing the customer's behavior with another table instead of bringing the requested straw. When our drinks finally arrived, after about a 20 minute wait (for a can of beer and one mimosa, mind you), the mimosa glass was full of crushed ice and the champagne was flat. Awful. When the food finally arrived, the breakfast sandwich was cold, the cheese unmelted, and the ham appeared to be prepackaged deli meat. The other dish, although sounding exotic in the description, was a pan of tomato sauce with two hard boiled eggs in it instead of the poached eggs described. Disgusting. The bread was the only redeeming component of the meal and was likely purchased from the Publix bakery. Would highly discourage anyone from ever coming to this...
Read moreI’ve posted before when I have a good experience at a restaurant in Gulfport. I love the town. And the area. We had a not so good one at The Breeze. Which is unfortunate. We’ve eaten there several times and love it for breakfast. Today was also a very good breakfast. The problem came at the end. We got the bill and there was a $3 plate charge. My wife and I always split every meal. Not because we’re cheap, because we care about our diet. We had a quiche and 2 coffee. It should have been $21. I think that’s fair, if it’s good I really don’t care what it costs. But to add a $3 charge for an extra plate and napkin is pushing it. I talked to the owner and she said each napkin costs her 11 cents and she has to wash the plate. Really? Well that’s her policy and I can live with that. Although we like the place we will never go back again. There are so many excellent restaurants in Gulfport we...
