I am only rating this store a 3, not because it's not an amazing store, because it's one of my favorite stores to shop at, but as soon as I walked in to that store, I started to be followed around by employees, like I was a shoplifter. I continued to shop, trying to pay little attention to this, but it became increasingly difficult to ignore. I was not ever left alone in any of the aisles I went down because there was always at least one or two employees who would pop up or sit at the end of the aisle and stare at me. I began to get really annoyed, but unsure of how to handle it. Then I see a friend of mine who is an employee of that store. She asks if I noticed that I was being followed around and of course I tell her I did notice. She told me it was because they thought I was going to steal stuff from there, which is not something I would do and she knew this to be true. She says that they stereotype and follow the ones who look a certain way. Since it had been pouring rain all day with high winds and this was the fourth store I went to that day, I'm sure my appearance may have been a mess, but this was not ok in my eyes! To pick someone out of a crowded store, who looks a certain way and assume they are going to steal from you is wrong!! I have never stolen from them ever and as a matter of fact I spent almost $140.00 that day when I checked out. It would have been more but I out quite a few things back because I decided that if I was going to be treated this way, they didn't need me to spend my money there. I left there angry as a hornet! I may not go back to that store again ever. I'll go to the Albany store before I get treated like that again. Shame on them for making an honest customer who enjoys spending her time and money shopping there...
Read moreLet me just start off by saying I love Hobby lobby, but the Lancaster location is awful. The store manager Brandon has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. They have signs posted all over the store advertising the price of items, one of the advertised prices were a little confusing for me, so I asked an employee for clarification and she informed me that she wasn’t sure so she got her manager Brandon he then clarified what item exactly was being advertised for that price so I grabbed several of the items that were advertised at that price that the manager Brandon just showed me where the correct ones I got up to the register and they were ringing up a different price. I informed the cashier that the manager Brandon showed me that these ones were on sale. So she called Brandon. He then proceeded to tell me that they won’t be honoring that price of the advertised item. It would be whatever price it’s ringing up as and marked as.I told him, you just told me these were correct ones. His response to me was I’m not going to argue with you buy them at the price it rings up as or I can leave the store if you’re going to go to a hobby lobby avoid this one at all costs, they do not honor their advertised pricing, and the manager is very very the store must’ve been desperate when they were promoting because there’s no way he would’ve ever gotten a management...
Read moreTerrible customer service! I went there with my dad to purchase floral foam and we were told had sold out of the bulk foam but they still had single bricks of it. We need 12 of them so we asked if we could get the single bricks for the same price. The woman at the floral desk said that was against the rules and the best they could do would be to give us a rain check and we could come back later. When we said we needed it sooner than that she asked if we wanted to talk to the manager. When we said yes she called the manager over the PA. The manager yelled from another part of the store that he wasn't going to walk over to us and if we wanted to talk to him we would have to go there. When we got there we asked the manager (who was not doing anything) the same question. He said the same thing as the cashier. When we asked him if he would rather we went a few doors down to Joann's he said yes. We went to Joann's and we were immediately assisted and we found exactly what we were looking for.
We will definitely not be returning to the Salem store which is a pity as we always prefer to support smaller companies and we enjoy shopping at all their other stores. I sincerely hope they hire a manager that is not rude or lazy and that they improve their...
