Five Stars for Pax at Pictureline – A True Pro Supporting Pros
As a professional videographer and photographer, I’ve been coming to Pictureline for the better part of the last seven years. I’ve bought gear, traded gear, tested gear, and spent thousands of dollars building out my business. Like any long-term relationship, there’ve been some ups and downs, but overall, I’m incredibly grateful to have a high-quality, pro-level camera store right here in my area. It’s a go-to resource not just for me, but for many of my colleagues. We call, we drop in, we lean on them when we need answers- and they usually deliver.
But I have to shout out Pax in particular. There are many people in this business who just care about the bottom line, and that’s evident by how they treat you. You know the type. Not with this guy. He’s just a straight-up good dude. He listens, and his friendship is genuine.
I recently came in to check out the DJI Ronin 4D, and Pax went above and beyond. I had to jump on a business call that lasted over 30 minutes, and instead of just moving on to other customers, Pax took the time to pull out the Ronin 4D, draw comparisons to similar setups using a notepad, and even mapped out how it would integrate with the gear my colleague and I already use. He let me handle the rig, walked me through it, answered every question with patience and depth, and truly helped me understand the setup- not just sell it.
That kind of effort doesn’t go unnoticed. Whether or not buying the Ronin 4D was the goal, Pax made me feel confident, informed, and supported- and that’s everything in this business.
Huge thanks to Pax and the whole Pictureline team. You’re not just selling gear—you’re empowering professionals. Keep doing...

I have been a customer of Pictureline for about 7 years now. During these years I have been in the store numerous times both to buy gear and to simply window shop for gear I want to own. Regardless of if I planned to make a purchase on these days or if I just wanted to look, the staff has always been top notch, friendly, and made me feel welcomed. The staff is very well versed in all of their products and can guide you in the right direction with your purchase. During my many trips to the store I have also found the management and owner to be great people who are always happy to see you.
In the days of everything being sold online (which Pictureline also does) it's very refreshing to be able to walk into an actual store, see the products first hand, have staff help guide you and get outstanding service. Places with this level of customer care are getting to be very rare. Pictureline is now the gold standard for customer care in my book.
When you buy a product online from an out of state retailer, you take a risk of not being satisfied with your purchase and the customer care you get is only over the phone. If you have even the slightest question about what to buy, go into the store and see why this place is known for great service, knowledgeable staff and a wide selection of the best gear.
I have bought thousands of dollars worth of gear from Pictureline and made numerous rentals (Yes, check out the rental selection!!) and I have always been impressed with this store.

Read moreSalt Lake City's very own B&H. They've been situated at their location in the city for nearly two decades and it's always a pleasant, professional experience when walking in. I highly recommend them as a local online retailer if have allocations in your budget for media and need brand new, specialized equipment—their inventory is the best for any local retailer.
The store is very clean; employees are attentive, available, and knowledgeable. However, I would like to see rentals and store policies geared toward independent videographers and photographers running a solo business, not just corporate shooters.
Their return policy is too strict and will cost you another whole day's rental. When I came to pick up some equipment, my reservation was modified to add a few additional accessories to ensure compatibility. For my 1-day-rental, the cost increase was negligible. However, after missing the return window, I was charged for all the gear for a 2nd day—essentially a 100% late fee. They proceeded with the return after charging me for another day until I asked if I could hold onto it for the weekend—after all, I was paying for it. So they agreed.
The cost of my rental—though quality—ended up almost 75% the cost of a budget brand flash I could own forever and use on every shoot. I did half my shoot without flash, so it made me wonder if it was worth it.
Edit:
After noting my review, an employee at the store was very kind and modified the charges from my rental, which is very much appreciated. Thanks to Pictureline for listening to their customers, I...
