I recently had the pleasure of dining at Slackwater Pizza, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The combination of delicious pizzas, delightful salads, and a refreshing selection of craft beers left me thoroughly impressed.
We ordered the Italian Job and Gyro Trip pizzas, and both were absolute gems. The Italian Job was a flavor explosion, with its perfectly balanced blend of savory Italian meats, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey cheese. Every bite was a delight. The Gyro Trip pizza was a unique and flavorful twist, capturing the essence of a classic gyro in pizza form. The tender gyro meat, tzatziki sauce, and Mediterranean toppings created a mouthwatering medley of flavors. These pizzas were truly a testament to the culinary expertise of Slackwater Pizza.
We also indulged in the Caprese salad, and it was a refreshing and vibrant accompaniment to our pizzas. The combination of juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and tangy balsamic glaze was a match made in heaven. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, making it a perfect side dish to balance the rich flavors of the pizzas.
To complement our meal, we tried the Snarf Snarf beer, and it was a delightful choice. The crisp and hoppy notes of the beer paired wonderfully with the robust flavors of the pizzas, elevating the overall dining experience.
What truly sets Slackwater Pizza apart, besides the outstanding food, is the welcoming and attentive service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to provide recommendations. Their genuine passion for their craft and dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience was evident throughout our visit.
The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and cozy, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The lively atmosphere and rustic decor added to the overall charm of Slackwater Pizza.
I wholeheartedly recommend Slackwater Pizza to anyone seeking exceptional pizza in a warm and inviting setting. Whether you're a pizza aficionado or simply looking for a delicious meal, this place will not disappoint. I can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing...
Read moreI initially made a reservation for 8 people, then I was notified via email of a change to 11 people because in the reservation I specified that we were more people and for some reason the system would not let me add more people, we have been to another location and did not have any problems with the group, I thought that upon arrival I could explain it, upon arriving at the place I explained to the girl at the reception that we were possibly more than 15 maybe 19, she did not say anything to me at that time, she just told me to wait and then they let us in, in the end we were 20 people and a baby, after being seated when the place was full and asking for another table, someone who works there came, approached and began to speak angrily and in a rude manner, I understand that we were a large group and it can be overwhelming, we just wanted to eat and have a quiet and pleasant time, we have been to this restaurant this same large group at the Herriman location and everything was fine, but it would have been better from the beginning to say no, and that we were too many, we are people polite and we would have surely understood, also nobody spoke to strangers at another table asking them to leave, we waited for the table in front of us to free up (it was a suggestion from one of the waiters) people left and the table was occupied minutes after they left after they had cleaned the table, it was a communication problem because since I arrived I told them that we were a bigger group, on the other hand the waiter Mat was excellent, friendly and patient, we were not loud, demanding, or rude, we ordered the food quickly and without problems but we took the cake home because we didn't know if it was appropriate to sing happy birthday there, we were all strange because of the awkward situation because it had never happened to us before, I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the reservation changes, nobody explained anything to me either but it was not the way to treat us in front of everyone, the situation could have been handled more...
Read moreI don't know what kind of witch craft is in their pizza dough but whatever it is - you will never want to eat pizza anywhere else in Utah. Slackwater does a crust slightly on the thinner than your average mountain pie style. It's crispy, slightly smoky from the oven, and has a sweetness to it that is delicious. Period. Of the 10 pizzas we've tried in the past 4 months, there was not a single one that wasn't at least pretty delicious. Our favorites include the Tikka, Grape and Gorgeous, and typically - whatever is their monthly special. Slackwater manages to get the right amount of topping and layer multiple flavors without overwhelming or muddling up the entirety of the pizza. The hype is absolutely deserved and you will not be disappointed no matter what you order. If you are, however, looking for a greasy slice (which is fair and sometimes the heart wants what it wants) - this will not be it and you should find yourself at Este. If you accept pizza in all its wonderful forms, you will not be disappointed in the slightled going to Slackwater. My only two small complaints are the pizza names because they mostly impossible to remember what name correlates with which pizza and if you're like us and are on a quest to try everything - you're pulling up their menu 4 times before you can remember which pizza it was that you wanted to order. Really, a tiny price to pay. Other recommendation is if you order the beignets, don't expect a traditional light and fluffy beignet but rather deep fried pizza dough dusted with powdered sugar. There are worse things you could be "subjected" to but for me, I did want them to be more like a true beignet. Side note - their beer menu is sincerely worth its own separate review and is of epic proportions rivaling Beer Hive and The Bayou. Equally impressive is how well versed their staff is...
