R&R BBQ — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

First off I don't often leave reviews but this store went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We visited Sat 3/8 for lunch during our honeymoon in SLC, the orders were quick to come out, simple menu, making for easy ordering. Me and hubby are from Idaho Falls and sadly nobody knows how to do true, good quality bbq down here, especially where you have the flavor of the spices and meat and not pure bbq sauce. All the way from the meat, down to the mashed potatoes and mac n cheese, it was TO DIE FOR. I went back to get a second banana pudding cup because it WAS SO DANG GOOD and the guy just gave it to me and I was so so happy. I am not sure if he was a manager/owner but he was handing out the orders, he was the sweetest soul to be. He saw it was our honeymoon and gave us a free peach cobbler with ice cream and also little cups of bbq sauce to go. We tried all the meat except the turkey and chicken, not a single thing was bad or anything but spectacular. I'm not kidding me and my hubby will most likely drive down there for the best bbq every and some K1 Speedway. You guys and our experience were truly such a memorable and happy part of our honeymoon. Huge shoutout to you guys! I dream about your pulled pork sandwich, ribs, and banana pudding every day! LOL. Before we left SLC we stopped by another R&R Location and I may or may not have bought 3 more pudding cups and ate one on the way home and another for a late night snack and the third for breakfast the next morning 😂😂❤️❤️❤️. Cannot recommend them enough!! Also I totally forgot I am a HUGE sweet potato fry lover and I don't know what they do but not only was the BBQ out of this world and the best of my life but so were those fries. They were so addicting. I wish you guys would make a location up this way, I bet you would get A TON of business. (I didn't try the peach cobbler but my husband said that it was the best cobbler of his entire life). Everything...

The food and the customer service here really shines bright. Before I review the food, I want to thank Kyle, who was so nice in telling me what are their most popular items and what he recommends me to order, it was really helpful. Thanks Runey for being so nice and helpful at the cash register. Thanks Alexis who was really nice and clean, going the extra mile checking on me and cleaning the dining hall. Also, sorry if I butchered names.

The food was amazing! Me and my gf both got pulled pork sandwiches but she got the one with pineapple and we both devoured em. We also got sides; mac n cheese, baked beans, peach cobbler. Mac n cheese and baked beans were bangin! The peach cobbler was so good my girl couldn't leave it alone! We also ordered the half rack of ribs with hush puppies and them thangs were delicious. Meat falling off the bones and had the right texture, crispy yet juicy.

I love how there's bbq bottles at the table, sweet, spicy, regular and a mustard type sauce. I was able to have fun and try them all. Definitely loved all but kept going to the regular and spicy.

This experience was so amazing! Thanks to the heartwarming staff, it's staff like this that really make people enjoy the experience and come back for more. And thanks to the staff for making the food delicious for the customers and asking me how the food was aka checking up on the customer, which makes for a great experience.

Unfortunately I didn't have the best experience at R and R BBQ. From the outside on the street, the smell of smoked meats drew me in. They had a nice selection of smoked meats to choose from on their menu. I decided to get a dozen smoked chicken wings. The wait time was only about five minutes before the waitress brought my order to my table. They had that nice smokey smell but did look a little dark. (I've been smoking my own meats for about 30 years so l know what they should look like). As soon as I took my first bite, the chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. I only have myself to blame because I should've immediately brought it to the attention of the staff working but l didn't. After picking at the least blackened chicken wings, l ate five before l needed to use the bathroom. (I only had to pee and was only gone about two minutes). When I came back to my table, the waitress apologized saying that she thought l left and threw the rest of my food away. To be honest l wasn't even upset because the rest of the wings were so dark and overcooked l didn't see them as edible. Again, l can only blame myself as l should've let her know how disappointed I was with the food but didn't want to come across as confrontational.
