Worker at business center was so rude. No smiles and no hello. Didn’t listen to what I wanted and ended up having to redo the entire transaction. I had to use multiple cards to pay for my groceries and she was not happy about it. The cashier on the receipt says Kandis G. I’m not sure if that was the business center worker’s name or the self checkout cashier as I had to suspend my transaction at self checkout and take it to the business center. There were two other customers chatting with the business center employee so I waited my turn. When they stopped talking it turned out to be two employees chatting with the business center employee, not customers. I’m not sure why these employees are just standing around talking and then want to act like the customer is a hassle. I had to use a total of three cards; one being my SNAP card and the cashier made me feel like just walking out in embarrassment. I wasn’t given the usually welcome at this HEB. So sad how HEB has gone downhill. I used to work at an HEB and the customer used to be the most important.
Edit-updated visit on 10/14/3024 Customer service has changed. Much improved. Lots of “hellos” and “have a good day”. My favorite cashier is Evan W. I still have one complaint though-these workers who shop for to go orders are ANNOYING. They are always in the way. Their carts are blocking the isles and items in the isles. They will push the carts right up to you and stand there and either stare at you until you move or will keep inching their way towards you until they can squeeze in and grab what they need. Do they not understand that I drove here to shop and I get my own items and pay while they are paid to work there? Are they on some time limit? Even in the produce section these large long carts are always in the way. The workers that maneuver these are always in a hurry, rude and take up so much space. I had to just leave before getting everything off of my list because I cannot relax with them right up behind my back like vultures. It’s annoying and I am not the only o e complaining. I don’t know the solution but they should act and shop as normal shoppers. They are employees getting paid, not people bringing in business. I wish there was another grocery store to shop at because this is...
Read moreThis particular HEB has a nicer than usual staff and I want to share this fact. I had just traveled from Katy to SA. My trip started off with a bang! Drove as far as Brookshire and had to replace the drivers side front tire, which had a 4.5" vertical gash in it-- delaying my arrival by 2.5 hours...needless to say a frustrating beginning! I killed some time at HEB in Katy, purchasing gifts for my host while the tire was being replaced...
Upon arrival at my destination, I decided to return some of the items purchase in Katy and headed out to the nearest SA HEB to do so-- dreading the experience ahead of me, in truth.
Quite to my very pleasant surprise, Kandice in customer service WAS A DREAM-- not to mention the staffer who outwardly greeted and blessed me as I was entering the CS area! The same gal saw me drop some change following my transaction and promptly retrieved it off the floor for me before I could even stoop to get it!!
Following this I picked up a few food items for my host and the cheerful cashier volunteered to guard my purchase while I visited the ladies room....
From parking my car to getting back into it to leave, the entire episode was completed in less than 12 minutes!!!
What could have been another frustrating disaster, turned out to be the highlight of my trip to SA, proving to me that ATTITUDE is EVERYTHING when it comes to Customer Service! This store must have awesome management...and it was reflected in the staffers who ABSOLUTELY MADE MY DAY! Those of you whom assisted me know who you are...I SING YOU ALL HIGH PRAISES- - thank you for the best grocery excursion, hands down, I have had in 63 years! God...
Read moreI have been a consistent shopper at this HEB location for over 2 years, and I must express my profound disappointment with a recent experience I had with their curbside pickup. To say it was unorganized is putting it lightly. After following their check-in procedure and patiently waiting for 25 minutes in the designated spot, I received a perplexing text message notifying me that my order had been picked up. Yet, I was still sitting in my car, orderless.
Upon calling the store to clarify the situation, not only did they question me (asking if perhaps someone else took my order), but they also eventually informed me that my groceries had been mistakenly given to another customer. What's more, instead of an apology for the inconvenience, the proposed solution was to simply “re-shop” my order. With my day already derailed by this oversight, I didn’t have the luxury of time to wait for them to redo everything. Thus, I opted to cancel the order.
To add salt to the wound, the individual handling my call seemed completely indifferent to the inconvenience caused. I hoped to find a resolution or at least empathy when reaching out to their corporate customer service, but even that experience was subpar. I was informed that my refund would take 3-5 days. It's extremely disappointing to realize that I now have to wait almost a week just to get my money back and subsequently be able to purchase groceries elsewhere.
Overall, this HEB has let me down significantly. The combination of a flawed system, a lack of timely customer service, and an apparently uncaring staff has left a sour taste in my mouth. If this is the direction the store...
