Maverick Branch Library — Attraction in San Antonio

If i could rate this library a -1000 i would! there's this lady that knows nothing about me and she comes up and whispers into some other ladies ear about something... My library card was stolen about 5 years ago and when the lady was looking up my account she said that there was fines of like $10. i said i'm clearly not gonna pay someone else's fines if it was stolen in the first place. I think they need to start trusting more people, because now i am not able to check out books or anything and i'm a college student. I don't like it very much when people whisper things about me right in front of me. I come here all the time and i totally feel like i have been mistreated and i hope no one else that needs a library card comes here because they get all irritated like they are all on their rag and start whispering things. I will definatley be visiting...

Staff is aggressive and rude about meeting rooms, they interrupt during meetings even when you pay for the full time.

Amy was not kind and showed little customer service. I was told we can't book meeting rooms because we went two mins past our time. I was told we had to be "barked at to leave" Which is not true. We consistently give Maverick our business and treat there space well and value their time. I thought libraries were supposed to be welcoming learning environments, will not book...

It's a nice looking building, interesting design and I love the rocks and fossils in the entryway. What I disliked was the fact that there was one desk in the "quiet" office area which was in use and that the far back section wasn't able to keep the sounds of kids yelling at bay. The group room was locked to groups only and im rather disappointed that such a grand place didn't have an actual study area for people to actually study in.

I won't come back here to study...
