Nani Falcone Disc Golf Course is pleasant. It is fairly short and open, making a good beginner's course. Unfortunately, around early 2014 the San Antonio Parks system replaced the decrepit signs at each tee on the course. Such signs SHOULD display the following: Hole (tee/basket) number Fairway length (distance from tee to basket) Par for the hole (usually) a simple pictogram/diagram of the fairway (straight, curving, etc., with trees, water hazards shown) Apparently, a nitwit was assigned (or hired) a to replace the signs and was given no guidance or supervision for the task, resulting in a set of signs with: NO distance to basket NO par useless or misleading diagrams (most bear NO resemblance at all to the fairway.) Hole numbers (the ONLY thing done right) I write this review in the hope that someone in the S.A. Parks Dept will notice and install...
Read moreThis is a large expansive and safe park with walking trails, disc golf, picnic tables, two playgrounds, skate park, dog park, a field for flying kites, and a ball field. The park has plenty of parking and sits across from a County library. The park is well taken care of. Plenty of areas to keep everyone happy. The downside is much of the park is in the direct sun especially in the afternoon. Neither playground has a shade canopy. It gets very hot here during the summer. There is a porta potty type restroom for emergencies. There are picnic tables under a large shaded pavilion which is nice in the summer. I think there could have been a better more child friendly choice than the old man statue but just my opinion. This definitely is a convenient and enjoyable park to visit if it's not too...
Read moreThis is a very nice park for kids. There are two playground sets, one seemingly for younger children and one for bigger kids. There's a covered pavilion area with tables, and quite a bit of trail that you can rollerblade, bike, or jog on. My only complaints are that there just isn't enough shade. When the tables under the pavilion area occupied, your only hope for shade is to stand in a shadow cast by the playground equipment. When it's 90°+ outside it gets very miserable very fast. Also, the ground around the playground equipment is covered in some kind of wood chips. I'd much rather see the softer "foam rubber" type ground like some other parks have. It hurts less when kids fall, and there's nothing for the really little kids to try and eat...
