**Update-received a call from Dan at Haverty’s and was sent an email to upload photos of my sectional so they could “assist” me. It was a waste of time- I was told there was nothing they could do and we just have to wait for the warranty company to get back to us which is anywhere from 30-45 days! What was the point of me going to the trouble of uploading the photos??? SAVE your money and either don’t purchase furniture here (only had a year and ripping at seams and footrest is warped) or definitely DON’T get the warranty! A waste of $700.00 dollars for warranty alone.
We purchased a sectional here and spent over $6000.00. We initially said no to the extended warranty, because we didn’t want to go through the hassle of filing a claim or having through jump through hoops for a repair and figured if a repair was in need we could hire someone. My husband explained this to the salesperson at the time and he assured us that it was not a complicated process and that they usually come out within a week to repair and if we should come across any problems we could contact the store and they would assist us. Now a year later, we are in need of a repair, so I filed a claim online. I never received confirmation my claim was received, nor a response from warranty company and it’s been a week. Called the store like our salesperson said only to be told they can’t help and to call customer service. Called Haverty’s customer service and they said to allow 45 days to get a response!!! The salespeople at Haverty’s are deceptive and very pushy to get warranty!!! I would never purchase furniture here again. Sectional is already ripping at the seam only a year later. Read moreWe purchased a bedroom suite from Havertys of San Antonio and when it was delivered they forgot the footboard. I asked the delivery guy to please not leave before giving me the number of the delivery manager so I would have a contact for the missing piece and he said that "He would leave when he wanted regardless of set up and if I wanted it I could get it myself" and then refused to give me the number to anyone. I called and talked directly to the store and store Manager himself and was told that he would look into this and get back with me soon to tell me when the delivery truck was going to deliver it since I am at home burning leave time for their mistake. I never heard back from the store manager even after I gave him my personal cell phone number and it wasn't until I called back two hours later and left three messages about leaving negative reviews online and filing a complaint with the corporate office in Atlanta which I did that I received a call back to tell me that the truck would be here in three more hours. So instead of having a very easy delivery these clowns caused me to burn over half a day of leave time for their mistake and left the mess for me to clean up. You can guarantee that I will be following up on the complaint at corporate headquarters on Monday. We chose Havertys because we thought that they understood that customer service was just as important as what they sold. This has been a very painful experience for me. Read moreOverall we are extremely pleased with the couch we purchased . The reason for the lack of 5 star review is 2 things. 1. Is our sales person Lee. The level of service received from him is disgraceful. I bought a sectional based off what was shown on the floor. The floor model had 3 electric recliners . After paying for the couch as I walked out of the store he chased me out and said I would have to pay $100 extra to have the couch as shown. What I paid for only the 2 end pieces would be electric. How do you not tell the customer this upfront . For $100 a concession should of been made to give me what I was told I was buying . We decided not to pay the extra because we didn’t want the cord running in the living room for the extra piece. Then he promised a follow up .. never got one . He wasn’t friendly during our whole transaction either . When we walked into the store no one offered to help. Please don’t assume because your customer doesn’t fit a certain prototype of what you feel your target customer base looks like that we cant afford to shop here . We came in looking to buy whatever we chose in cash.
When our couch was delivered there was a foot missing too. I will say the manager I spoke to have us a courtesy refund for the damage .
Overall train your people to be more courteous and knowledgeable about your products on the floor. Especially one smack in the middle of the store alone the aisle which leads me to believe it’s one of the more popular items . Hoping $3500 for a couch the...
