Checking in was ok. I spoke with the host about checkout time and he informed me it was at 11. I asked him if there was a policy for later checkouts and he said well I can give you until 11:30 with no charge after that it's $20 per half hour. I say ok. I came in super late so I knew I may end up purchasing a half hour. He said he would make note of it and if I hadn't checked out at 11:30 he'd begin charging so I wouldn't have to break my sleep or anything. Perfect situation!!!! So 11:05 comes and I'm knocked out. Supervisor of housekeeping comes banging on the door. I tell her to hold on a second so I can cover and go to the door. She ignores me and opens the door wide with some guy. I freak out!!! She tells that it's been check out time and I need to leave. I explained that the person who checked me in said that I could stay until 11:30 and if I needed to stay longer than that I can pay $20 per 30 min. She says well get up anyway it's closeto 11:30 and rudely storms off!!!! No I'm sorry for opening the door with some man. Nothing! So I wash my face trying to get myself together. 11:15 comes I get another knock on the door. Again I say hold on a second I'm coming. They ignore me again and open my door. This time is a different housekeeper who speaks no English but was able to state "You stay you go pay". I just say ok and closethe door. I gather all my things because at this point it was getting on my nerves and I was just ready to leave. 11:20 the phone rings. The manager is yelling rudelyon thephone at me explaining check out time is 11:00 and I need to leave now or be escorted by police!!!! Excuse me???? So I tell him the arrangement I made when I checked in and he calms down. I told him I'm packed and literally going out the door as soon as I put my clothes on. I know at 11:30 I had to be gone anyway to not be charged. He said fine. I have until 11:30! I put my clothes on and start loading the car.... On my last trip into the room to get my purse and laptop its 11:28 here comes the guy with a receipt showing he charged me for another day!!! The fact that is not even 11:30 and you bring it to me and then the fact that I have to pass the lobby each time I loaded my car so he knew I was leaving.... But to charge my card again anyway? So I told him he needs to reverse the charges which he claims he was not going to do. So I call my bank and they immediately stop the charge right as I stood in the lobby. And to make things worse he was mad about it!!!! I travel in San Antonio often! I get rooms at least 2-4 times a month. Of all the low budget hotels I've traveled to this has to be the worst! I know it's an older building but it's ran down badly and could use some type of renovations. The elevator has a stench that you must hold your breath in. The hallways are dusty and dirty with strange scents. Their area for breakfast is dirty I would never eat there ever. People hang all over the place. In the parking lot in the lobby in the hallways. Is a very sketchy place. So for them to treat me the way they did I can't imagine why. I just know for now on I'm raising my room budget $20 more to find nicer hotel accommodations. It's like low-budget people and places will do anything to scheme people out of money. I just need to stay away from places and people like that. I will definitely pay more for decent service and to avoid lowlife people and businesses. Unfortunately lowlife are what you find in these super low...
Read moreI recently had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience during my stay at Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio/Fiesta. I feel compelled to share my review to warn others about the numerous issues I encountered throughout my time there.
Firstly, the customer service provided by the staff and mostly by Vincent was shockingly rude and unhelpful. It seemed as if they had no interest in assisting guests and displayed a complete lack of professionalism. Their discourteous behavior left a lasting negative impression on my stay.
Secondly, the broken coffee machines were a major inconvenience. As a guest, I expect basic amenities to be in working order, and this was not the case. It was frustrating to be deprived of a simple pleasure like a cup of coffee due to the hotel's negligence.
Furthermore, I was appalled by the closure of the lobby at 11 pm. When I left a personal letter at the front desk, I was later informed that it had been taken down. This lack of respect for guest belongings is utterly unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for the security and privacy of patrons.
To make matters worse, when I called the hotel over the phone to inquire about a discrepancy in the pricing, I was shocked to be asked to pay $200, despite the online price being listed at only $55. Such inconsistent and unfair pricing practices are deceptive and unethical.
The most distressing incident during my stay was witnessing an elderly mother being kicked out of the hotel and threatened with police involvement for simply seeking basic assistance. This kind of treatment is utterly unacceptable and reflects a complete lack of empathy and compassion on the part of the staff.
Additionally, the presence of gangs around the property added to the already unsettling atmosphere. This jeopardized the safety and well-being of guests, creating an environment that was anything but relaxing or enjoyable.
Overall, my stay at Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio/Fiesta was a complete nightmare. The rude customer service, broken amenities, closure of the lobby without notice, unreasonable pricing, mistreatment of guests, and the concerning presence of gangs all contributed to an overwhelmingly negative experience. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel, as it fails to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality and...
Read moreI wish I could give zero. We booked this hotel through priceline. Upon arrival, i was hoping i was lost and this was the wrong hotel. I went to the front desk hoping to hear that they forgot to book my room. Sadly this was the hotel i booked. Nothing looked like the pictures. We went to go to our rooms. The first thing we noticed was the carpets terrible condition. It looked like someone turned all the lights on in a movie theater. There was a looming odor that stayed with us as we ascended the stairs. A presence far more horrifying than any sort of paranormal activity. We finally reached our room. We opened the door. It was almost as if the smell had been under pressure. We were taken aback by the smell, literally stumbling backwards. My wife clutching her stomach, wretched. The odor could only be described as a fish market where the workers were payed in farts and they all decided to work over time. The room was humid there was no ac running. Hoping to slay this ghastly cloud. We turned on the ac at the far wall battling through a thick blanket of morning breath and old tuna only to be met with what sounded like gravel inside of a slap chop. The ac wanted desperately to turn on but seemed as though it could not work in such a harsh enviroment.
We grabbed our bags. I told my wife to head to the car. We had prepayed for 2 nights they would not refund the first night however they did refund the second. Once i got to the car to explain what happend my wife told me a man had a revolver tucked in his waist band and was asking her why she was leaving. Needless to say i was happy to be gone. I wish i could have got refunded for all of it but it didn't work out that way. Please use caution when...
