let's get to the point! 2 weeks ago I stopped at the De Zavala location. The woman I presume is the breakfast manager was running a tight shift of friendly, efficient, competent workers. I tried my first Bill Miller breakfast bowl and it was amazing. I love their eggs and the way they cook the sausage. Fast forward...
TODAY... I'm on crutches after a foot injury. I left for work early and stopped at Bill Miller for breakfast. Parking as close as I could to the door & awkwardly entering the building, I hobbled halfway across the floor, the breakfast manager met me and asked, " What can I get for you?" She was pleasant, kind and I felt noticed /seen.
She brought my food quickly and made the whole experience wonderfully calming and satisfying for me. A co-worker came in to get his breakfast and her banter with him and me was endearing. She didn't waste time. SHE INVESTED TIME! Go 'head on, y'all! THATS SERVICE!
As Cali transplant in 2009, Bill Miller's was my first fast food experience in San Antonio. When he was old enough, my son's first job was at Bill Miller's where he worked through high school and college (and he slayed his time there!!). Because he met his wife on the job at Bill Miller (DeZavala location)they catered their wedding reception. LOL!
Bill Millers is a part of San Antonio culture and my family's history. Hearty food? SURE! BUT IT'S THEIR PEOPLE Who make or break every location

Read moreI have been a loyal Bill Miller's customer for decades, even cater my business events, etc.
On 2/12/23 I went and order through drive thru, a rib and brisket plate, 3 sides, a sausage link apple pie slice and drink.
I am moving, so at the end of the day we were looking forward to a delicious dinner, etc.
When I got home, I realized that they didn't include the ribs not my coleslaw. .... I was devateded, tired and frustrated.
I called and spoke to the Mgr. who didn't apologize but expressed that they couldn't give me credit, that I could drive back and pick up the items.
I agreed to by today perhaps in the morning, as it turned out, the movers were late, and I finally went by after 2 pm. The drive thru kept my receipt and asked me to park, they brought by a small bag with my items. I didn't think to check because again I'm tired and running behind....and guess what, got home, anxious to enjoy my ribs......they were the oldest, driest toughest 3 little ribs they could find. They tasted like paper and.... I decided to get other food instead.
I will never, ever, ever, buy food at Bill Miller's again. It's not the small amount of food or cost, but their customer service and satisfaction such! I would never hire that manager ever!
It's really the principle of the matter. I wonder if the manager thinks the cost of 3ribs, which I had pad for, is worth a bad review and losing a decades long...
Read moreThe age old question "what can I get started for you?" Me: a #6 with turkey, itialan dressing and a sweet tea, please. I absolutely love Bill Miller salads. Go ahead and fight me and tell me no, there are better salads out there. I love the combination of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, bacon and cheese. It's in a fitting container and it is always a nice cool meal to enjoy on a hot sunny day! Now I have watch the price increase on the salad and I am still very faithful on paying for it. Recently, the price went up and is now $9 almost $10.00 for thr combo. I didn't mind, but what I do mind is how much smaller the salads are getting and less fresh. I like salads to have lots of color! Bright leafy greens and crisp cucumbers. All I'm getting now is less green, the white of the lettuce and soggy cucumbers. Yes, I know it's a bbq place. They specialize in brisket, sausage, fried chicken and fattening gravy/bbq sauce. Which I don't care for. But for the tiny percent of people who do eat salads from here, going a little extra on the greens means a lot to us. It's the little things. Who wants to eat a soggy, all lettuce hearts salad?? I will continue to order my salad and enjoy my tea...
