I wa forced to leave 1 star after a horrible experience at this restaurant. I would really give negative stars if i could. We arrived and were told 20 minute wait. So, we said ok and left our name on the list. We came in just behind a nice couple who was told 20 minutes wait also. After about 15 minutes the hostess came and got the other couple . We then watched as multiple other groups came in after us and were seated. We checked multiple times while we waited with the hostess and her answer was always i am cleaning a table for you, we will seat you soon. After waiting over an hour, we saw a group that came in very recently seated right away, so we went to leave and the hostess and manager said we have your table ready in another minute. My fiancee then said you guys seated this group and that group and that group right over there who all came in way after us after you told us that you were cleaning our table, we are out of here keep your table. She was a Very disorganized hostess who had a lack of help and leadership working with. She looked very confused everytime she looked at the list of who was waiting. Bad experience and bad service. We will not be back!!! We went to Nichas and got right in and sat down and had great service and very good food at much more reasonable price than the menu showed here. I will keep my business with Nichas and the other better restaurants like Mamacitas and Papasittos. Don't waste your time here!!! There are Better places that treat their customers...

We scheduled a youth gymnastics team banquet here. Called, put down a deposit, were given a price that included appetizer, meal, drink, and desert. $26 was the price per person we were quoted. They never sent us the contract. Switch to the banquet. They brought out appetizers, then food, then desert. Food was ok(just Mexican food nothing special, could have gotten what we were served at any Mexican place in San Antonio). When I got the bill it was over $40/ person. We had 50 people. They did not take the deposit off and we were charged for each individual item!! Nothing that we were promised. After speaking to the manager (who was very rude to my female employee and blocked her out to talk to me) he said that is not what we do. He agreed to credit the $200 deposit and added a few discounts that they had in the computer but it still came out to $35.50/ person. Scam artists and liars. I would highly recommend no one ever spend a dime at this unethical business. If I could give zero stars I would. Edit after response. The price they quoted us over the phone was nowhere and the manager couldn't explain it. He said yes that was the price he quoted but it did not include the app and desert BUT the plate we got was not even the price he quoted. Trying to look good in a review by claiming "miscommunication" but the truth of it is they lied to and...

I don't give five star ratings like some do. I believe totally in giving them only to those that have really earned it. Matamoros certainly earned it. First, driving up I can't say enough about how nice the restaurant looks on the outside. It gets even better when you walk in, it has a very upscale look inside. Which usually sets up for being a pricey menu, but not this time. The pricing and wide selection of their menu was exquisitely appealing. My girlfriend has the Chicken Fajitas, which were grilled very nicely and had excellent flavor. I had the Jalapeno Chicken Enchiladas, they were served with rice and beans and we both had Tea (One sweet, one not).

The service was more than you could ask for and the best part? They didn't give you that harassing type of service, where they come every few minutes asking you how's your meal. I'm real big on not being bothered every few minutes. So the service was top notch, this was during their lunch time specials. All I can say is I will eat their again and I highly recommend them. It wasn't too busy when we went, I'd like to see how they are when they're busier. My only complaint is they don't have a location closer to...
