Pho Win — Restaurant in San Antonio

This was just the best experience! I thought I wanted pho but changed my mind to get a vermicelli bowl. I always get beef but the owner told me to get it with pork, I would not be sorry. It came out in less than 5 minutes and husband’s pad thai not long after. And boy was he right about the pork! It was crispy and so delicious!! Super homey & relaxed vibe! Like they take the time to get to know their customers. As I was eating, I heard a young lady call out “Hi” to a an incoming customer and she followed with “Will you have the usual?” It was a mailman who chuckled and said “Yes thank you!” Before we left, the owner came to ask me if I liked the pork and when I told him I loved it, he said would make me the B9 next time. After dining there a couple times and enjoying their food and service, we decided to opt for delivery as we didn’t want to go out during a college football game. We were disappointed to find out from the delivery person the restaurant ran out of the catfish completely and the restaurant didn’t notify us or the delivery person that was the case and delivery person only found out once he/she arrived there.

We both ordered the vermicelli dishes B1 and B7. Good portion and reasonable price. The fish sauce could be spicier and more sour. The egg roll was skinny with not much meat inside.

This is my go to place for pho now. The both has good flavor. I always get beef of some kind so the steak and brisket is a little tough/overcooked for my taste but this is solved by asking for the meat on the side and overall doesn’t takeaway from my liking of the place. I always order an iced coffee and it always tastes the same. I like consistency in my regular eateries.

The staff is consistent, familiar, and friendly. I haven’t gotten a wrong order yet.

Personally, I did not enjoy the texture of the chicken in the spring rolls. I don’t eat pork so I can’t speak to quality of the pork dishes but I have faith they are good as pork seems more popular...
