Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in San Antonio

Im not one to go out of my way to leave negative reviews. And I usually prefer to give businesses a chance to fix things like this. But seeing as how my lunch break was totally wasted on this location today, im choosing the review route. I placed my order online at 10:38am for an 11am pick up. I arrive at 11:03, only to be told my order wasnt ready. They needed 14 more minutes because they needed to make more. The cook time took longer than 14 minutes. Finally I get my order. I check it in the car. The cinnamon rolls were COLD. Oh well, I can live with cold cinnamon rolls. But the kolache? Splitting it in half, I found that it was totally UNDERCOOKED in the center. It was straight RAW DOUGH, and the eggs and meat were cool. Completely inedible. I will definitely not be returning here. I hadn’t stepped into a Shipley’s in many years, and I have such fond memories of it from my younger days. When I noticed this brand-new location, I was truly looking forward to a bit of nostalgia. Unfortunately, what I found was anything but the Shipley’s I remembered. The counters and tables were messy with trash, and the floor was untidy as well. Not a single donut was on display, which struck me as odd and disheartening. I always enjoyed their cake donuts, but they weren’t even available. Wow, just got shamed for buying a Dr Pepper in the morning by the cash register lady! At a donut shop…really!? Why are you buying soda this early? Uuuh u sell it and I want it. And then to complain about going to the back to get kolaches multiple times, she went one by one and didn’t ask for the order before she went to the back...and then be a smart … instead, should have had them in the warmer behind her at the front at 10am.
