Fun place to have an adventure in nature. Walking trails and benches. It has 2 separate sides of the preserve which is kind of cool. We really only explored the south side because we got there a bit later and the sun was setting on us after walking awhile. The boys had lots of fun throwing rocks into the puddles and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Bus stops right on the street on either side of the Slough makes it really convenient getting there. Also we met a little girl who lived in the area and became our adorable tour guide. If you cared to know it's pronounced "sloo"

It is nice that there are wild spaces for birds, and aquatic life within populated areas. Though some parts are closer to the road and it can be noisy with traffic. Was wondering if higher vegetation around the perimeter would make it more sheltered for the wildlife and create a sound barrier.

One of my top favorites for bird watching, and photography while also getting steps in and enjoying wildflowers on the hiking trails.

Its a nice effort to protect nature in a busy residential area, but just kinda misses. Too much traffic is near, too many views of the apartments and houses near. Trash, vagrants... Sorry to digress, but san Diego needs to figure out what to do with its homeless. Can we give these people money to clean the streets? They live on the streets but many of them are also the biggest polluters......

I'm glad that this is open space. And if you wish to enjoy some open space this is ok. Having said that, it's pretty messy. The water looks polluted. There is trash that you don't have to look too hard for. There are birds here. Egrets and herons and others. I walked around the slough. It was a messy dirty walk. Not...
