Meechai Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in San Diego

Be prepared to wait!!! We showed up at 5 with one family of 3 in there before us and left at closer to 7! There appeared to be two people working. The lady that seated us and a guy. I’m assuming both of them cooked. I ordered the jelly noodles and my fiancé ordered cashew nuts. Both of our orders came out wrong. Mine came out almost 10 minutes before his did. He ordered his with out mushrooms or zucchini. His plate was covered in zucchini. Mine came with no mushrooms and no spice at all and the noodles were hard to chew through. Mine tasted almost like pad Thai. I didn’t finish my meal because I couldn’t choke it down any further, since I knew I wouldn’t eat it even if I took it home I left it. I visited this place a few times just to give it the change to make things better, but I was dissapointed the 2 times I was there. I will start by asking how can only one person working can keep the restaurant clean and properly sanitized before and after preparing food? Behind that litle curtain is the kichen which is very dirty, the sink looks like it has never been clean and there was a pot with boiling water where the vegetables were steam and it was dirty and the water looked like it had this white brown circle of spume in the inside like vegetables were cook in there all day but the water was not change, and the rest of the disches i saw near the sink looked like they were just rinse with water but nothing looked properly sanitazed, and everything around it was extremily dirty. Today is my first time at this restaurant. My bf and I had lunch here; he had chicken pad Thai while I had panang curry. I’ve been to different Thai Restaurants and I would say this is one of the best!!! The lunch portion was reasonable as it comes with one egg roll, salad, and rice (if you had panang). The Panang cooked right with tons of vegetables. The pad thai chicken was excellent because the meat that she used was white and was tender. Presentation of the restaurant was good too! Authentic Thai statue and decorations with soothing Asian instrumental music. There’s a bit of a wait since the owner, cook, server is the only operating as of now due to the cook had stroke and she couldn’t get any help at all outside.
