If I could give this store a negative rating, I would.
I rarely shop at Victoria’s Secret, but recently received a gift from my boyfriend. Unfortunately, the items didn’t fit, so I brought them—along with the receipt and original packaging—to the store, thinking I’d just get store credit and pick out something that actually worked for me. I expected a simple, standard exchange process. I was wrong.
Right away, I was told they don’t do store credit and only allow in-store exchanges or refunds. The problem? They rarely ever have my size in stock, so exchanging in-store was completely pointless. After talking to multiple employees and getting different answers from each of them, one told me to “just order my size online.” When I explained that another associate had told me that wasn’t an option with exchanges, she literally shrugged and said, “Oh, that sucks.”
Eventually, I spoke with the manager—who finally clarified that the employees were actually wrong. I could have the correct sizes shipped to me directly from the warehouse if they weren’t available in store. At that point, I was just stunned. What’s the point of having all these employees if no one knows what they’re talking about, and they’re just giving out random, contradictory information with no accountability? It felt like everyone was just making things up as they went.
After nearly an hour of useless back-and-forth, I decided I didn’t want anything from the store anymore and asked for a refund. That’s when the final straw hit: the employee processing the return looked at me and said, “Are you sure? You won’t get anything back and the money will just go back to his card.” I was disgusted. Of course I knew that—it was the whole point. I wanted to be done with this store and the entire experience after wasting so much time.
Then, just as I thought I could finally leave, I was told the refund couldn’t be completed because I didn’t bring the free beach towel that came with the order—an item with a literal value of $0.00. It was packaged separately, and it didn’t even occur to me that it would be required for a return.
I left feeling frustrated, insulted, and completely done with this location. I’ll be driving over 20 miles out of my way just to avoid ever setting foot in this store again. The service was beyond disorganized, the staff was untrained and inconsistent, and the attitude across the board was dismissive and careless. Truly one of the worst retail...
Read moreWent on new years day MY ENGAGEMENT DAY mind you with my reward card and went home to spend it online. I had to go looking for a worker at the registers for help and left after another walked past me and my fiance. Victoria's secret what is going on with the service in general its poor lately, match your advertising online prices to the store ones for everything I spend too much money to ever get a no we can't give you the online price when something is cheaper online and we have coupons and I'm not talking clearance. Oh and I was told in the mission valley store that they could not order the items I wanted to buy (that they did not carry) and use my 5 $20 off $50 rewards a few weeks back something about customers abusing the free shipping etc not a policy I know exists, I went to the la jolla store and surprise not one store in San Diego carries the lingerie items I wanted not good in my opinion. So no I don't think it's right forcing customers to pay for shipping 5x when I needed five orders placed because you limit the coupons I can use when I clearly spent the money to get them. Angel Forever credit card...
Read moreI usually never have an issue at this location but today my best friend and I were profiled by the manager, Sandra, and other staff. Almost 10 minutes into our visit, a staff employee told us that the manager had asked the employees to keep an eye on me and my friend for no reason. Whether it was because we are young women, which the store literally markets itself for, or because we dress alternatively, we felt extremely disrespected and uncomfortable the entire time we were shopping. Sandra kept interrupting me and my friend while we were shopping and watching us walk through the store. On the way to check-out one of the sales clerks kept staring at me and my friend as we waited in line even though she was supposed to be ringing someone else up. This kind of disrespect made me and my friend extremely uncomfortable, I can understand being cautious of shoplifters, but we didn’t do anything to make them suspicious, we were profiled almost immediately. If this is how staff and especially managers treat customers you would be better off shopping...
