Wonderful Experience with A Taste of SF Tours â Highly Recommend!
We recently went on a Muir Woods tour with A Taste of SF Tours, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our guide, Peter, was excellentâprofessional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He even texted us the night before to confirm the pickup time and location, which we really appreciated.
Peter arrived right on time and emphasized his goal to start early in order to avoid traffic, secure good parking at Muir Woods, and get ahead of the crowds. Sure enough, his planning paid offâwe bypassed a traffic slowdown near Mt. Tam, parked conveniently close to the entrance, and entered the park well ahead of the busier groups. This gave us a more peaceful experience and allowed us to take stunning photos without too many people in the background. By the time we were finishing the loop, crowds were just starting to arriveâperfect timing!
We had plenty of time to soak in the natural beauty, enjoy the crisp morning air, and take in the quiet serenity of Muir Woods before it got busy. After our walk, Peter took us to Sausalito, where we had the option to either return with him to San Francisco or take the ferry back to Pier 39 or the Ferry Building. We chose the ferry so we could explore Sausalito more leisurely, enjoy a delicious lunch by the bay, and do a bit of shopping. It was a perfect way to end the day.
Even though Peter has only been leading tours in SF for six months, he impressed us with how much he knew about San Francisco, Marin, Sausalito, and Muir Woodsâhe never ran out of interesting facts and stories. Heâs also a great driver, which helped ease my nerves on the winding road up to Muir Woods. (He mentioned he used to be a Grand Canyon tour guide, so heâs clearly experienced with mountain roads!)
As a side note, Iâve lived in San Francisco for 20 years, and this was my first time visiting Muir Woods on a tour. I had avoided driving there myself because of the twisty roads, but taking this tour was the best decision. It was stress-free, enjoyable, and gave me a whole new appreciation for this beautiful spot just outside the city.
Highly recommend this tour to both visitors and locals looking for a relaxed, informative, and well-organized way to...
Read moreOur San Francisco escapade reached new heights of enjoyment and enlightenment with Michael, our extraordinary guide, who greeted us in a spacious Lincoln SUV right at our cruise terminal. From that first moment, we knew we were in for a unique four-hour journey through the city's iconic landmarks and hidden gems.
Michael's personal journey from Belarus in 1994 adds a rich tapestry of experiences to his narrative. He's not just a guide; he's a proud father whose love for his two young daughters shines brightly, adding a deeply human touch to his tours. Sharing snippets of his life and insights into his family made our experience more personal and engaging, as if we were being shown around by a dear friend.
What truly set Michael apart was his encyclopedic knowledge of San Francisco, mirrored only by perhaps university professors. Every alleyway and vista came with a story, every landmark a history lesson. His expertise wasn't just limited to the city's past but also its present; he knew the best places to park, the quickest routes to our destinations, and the finest spots for that perfect cityscape snapshot.
Beyond his wisdom, it was Michael's demeanor that left a lasting impression. He navigated the bustling city streets with the calm and safety of a seasoned driver, his passion for San Francisco evident in his every word and action. We didn't just sightsee; we lived and breathed the city's history, culture, and vibrancy through Michael's eyes.
By the tour's end, we didn't feel like mere tourists; we felt like honorary citizens, privy to the secrets and stories that make San Francisco the marvel it is. Michael isn't just a recommendation; he's a hallmark of the city's tour experience. Opting for his guidance isn't just making a choice; it's ensuring your visit is memorable, educational, and utterly captivating. Secure your spot with Michael; it's a decision you'll reminisce about with fondness for...
Read moreI come from out of state to visit my 84 year old mother. Kirill is the manager of âA Taste of San Francisco.â I did not appreciate how Kirill hung up the phone on my 84 year old mother today on 12/27/24 at 9:04 am. My mother called Kirill to say that the pick up van to the Caza Hotel was late on 12/27/24. Kirill said, that the driver sent a text that he would be late, when in fact a text was never sent to us this morning on 12/27/24.
The reservation was changed from 8:30 am to 9 am, after it was reconfirmed for 12/27/24 for 8:30 am several times. Kirill was annoyed when my mother and I called to reconfirm our reservations several times. I called to reconfirm the reservation on 12/23/24 and my mother called before that.
On 12/26/24 at 8:25 am, Kirill called my 84 year old mother asking where she was. Apparently, Kirill made a mistake and thought our tour was for 12/26/24 instead of 12/27/24.
My mother explained that our tour was for 12/27/24 at 8:30 am. Kirill never apologized for his aggressive and rude behavior.
Kirill has poor customer service. He was impatient, aggressive and blatantly rude towards my 84 year old mother, who just wanted to reconfirm our reservations.
For the record, it was Kirill himself who made a mistake and thought our reservations was for 12/26/24, when it was supposed to be for 12/27/24. Kirill never apologized for his rude behavior and indifference. Kirill made it sound like it was my motherâs fault, when in fact it was Kirill who got confused with the dates. We have followed the instructions carefully and have waited for the pick up van in the front lobby of Caza Hotel on 12/27/24. Kirillâs disgraceful attitude was in excusable and distasteful! Kirill is not the right person doing customer service work. Kirill does not have the right personality for this job and is not qualified. I hope the phone calls are recorded so that it can...
