Hard Lesson Learned - always check your sack!!!
As a visitor from out of town I didn't check, until arrival home back in Florida. In fact, I was so shocked one of the items that I paid for wasn't present, I began to doubt my sanity and had to dig the receipt from out of the trash. I guess the clerk's name was "cassadyd" not sure. At any rate, that's why the four stars. And with screwy hours and the time difference, they were closed when I tried to call them, not that I can prove anything. So just FYI.
Also, one other thing, when buying out-of-print items, specifically DVDs, be mindful, they just might not be genuine - I'll just leave that there. Unless you're okay with that. Sometimes cheaper has a reason.
On the flip side (record joke, ha ha) I did score two Moby autographs...assuming he came in and just randomly signed a few things and stuck them amongst the stacks. One of which was in the bargain bin bookshelfs. Score, score!!!
And there are alot of collectibles there. Alot! I could have spent an entire day in that store. There is literally sooo much stuff to look at: movie posters, music posters, books of all genres, music and movie t-shirts, every kind of vinyl, cds, blurays, cassettes, dvds, VHS, toys, audiophile cds, record playas, buttons -- each of which you will find some used, and some new on most items.
It would be easy to spend a thousand dollars there in a blink of an eye. Or even so far as to buy a second suitcase, if...

Amoeba has such a deep selection of options for all music lovers…from indie, punk, jazz, classical, metal, classic rock, and more. And they have all music in all formats…vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and DVDs. Also, plenty of other music related items for sale, including retro posters, art, clothing and books.
The workers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have an info center where they can look up items on their computer to see if they have it in stock.
My teenage kids and I felt like kids in a candy shop. We spent over an hour in there looking around, and easily could have spent all day checking out their deep inventory of great music and deep cuts.
Most vinyl cost about $20, while CDs were reasonably priced, particularly the used music. This is pretty standard pricing these days. What’s not standard is the depth of their available music, particularly underground artists.

Read moreWow wow wow wow what a selection. You could stay there for hours and still fin a lot of new jeweles on all the diferent stiles of music. From rock to hip hop to blues, even a little country. Justa a great record store. They Radiohead, Billy Joel, metallica, Michael Jackson, you name it. The staff is a little busy and there could be a couple of more helping hands but it is what it is. The selection again is amazing on the down side it is a little mesy but what can you expect with such a huge selection of vinyls, cds even saw some tapes. Are you lookink for Aretha she is there or maybe you like.50 cent well found him, like metal, just look in their rock selection. Its just a great place to.go and spen a couple of hours diggin around their amasing and huge selection. A lot of box sets and limited editions too.
