I had an extremely terrible experience at this store. The store manager (Steven Tang) was rude and condescending to us as customers AND to his associates. I was interested in purchasing a couple of phones for the BOGO promo they have, and Steven was very adamant about not honoring this promo for us. He said in the grand scheme of things, they don’t make money off of these phones, so it didn’t matter if I purchased phones that day. Meanwhile, his poor associate is sitting there witnessing this interaction and feeling guilty, and I’m sure she was upset that he screwed her out of a good commission. She was so sweet, nice, and helpful, and he was completely rude and tried to play it off that he was “helping” us in the long run. I have worked in retail and customer service for years. The customer is always right. I have been with AT&T for 15 years-since they were first Cingular- and he said he didn’t care if we scrapped this entire transaction and went with another provider. Like really??? You wouldn’t do whatever you could to retain your customers??? He also had a strange demeanor and was speaking very fast and not making any sense... Another associate said that he was “acting strangely.” This entire debacle took 3 HOURS.
Furthermore, it is one of my pet peeves when managers belittle and embarrass their employees in front of customers. That is POOR management skills. When we left the store, the female associate was crying because she was so embarrassed! This is not creating a safe or positive culture for a team. I hope she leaves that job and finds something else where she is valued and appreciated.
In addition, when I left the store, my phone was not working properly because they added me to a “minutes” plan without my permission (it was supposed to be unlimited data, because we’re not in 1998) while I was on the phone with customer service. He said this was because I was transferring lines from a different plan, when really what he was doing was manipulating my account to give me more headaches than the one he already gave me that day.
In summary- do NOT go to this store. In fact, you should leave AT&T all together. I have escalated these complaints to corporate, and they are going to further investigate the issues at this store because this is not the first time it...
Read moreI never write reviews but I have to. I went to this store In the beginning of December and had the worst experience in my life. The store manager Stephen was very rude and unprofessional. He totally disrespected me and my religion with his comments and actions demanding me to look him in his eyes why he talked to me. I went into the store to purchase two iPhones and a female associate was helping me out. She was so sweet and nice but Stephen came in out of no where and vetoed the whole transaction. He told me that if I wanted to get the deal I would have to get a Verizon prepaid phone and come back. He made no sense and even another associate said he was talking weird. He had a weird jumpy twitchy manner like he was hoped up on something. Long story short I stepped out side to ask about the deal Stephen said no to and the associate on the phone said that this BOGO deal is going on throughout the holidays and that they would be happy to complete my transaction over the phone. So why is it in the store you tell me no and I get the deal over the phone? Even when I was outside on the phone he came out there seeing what I was doing and saying I’m making problems for myself. After I completed the transaction over the phone I went back in the store to tell the young lady who originally helped us, thank you and she was crying. I really hope while I was outside he wasn’t in the store bullying and degrading that young lady. AT&T you really need to look into this ASAP. I’ve been a customer with you guys for a long time and never seen anything like this. You have a “manager” really running around being reckless at the mouth and reckless with his actions. That environment is very toxic for customers and employees. If you can avoid that...
Read moreI visited your store last Friday and feel compelled to share my experience. I came to purchase a phone, paid for it, and waited while all the necessary upgrades were completed. Throughout my visit, the manager repeatedly asked why I was there, despite the fact that the assistant was clearly helping me. It felt rude and bizarre. Seriously, I’m in the same room, and I can see and hear you. What’s the issue? Have you never seen a woman buying a phone before? Do you not like women? Or is it something else—do you not like white people? Clean people? What made this even more ridiculous was that just a day earlier, I had visited the same store to check my options, and there were two men just sitting there with no apparent reason. There was a line, and I had time to observe them. I even asked if they were waiting in line, and they weren’t—they were just sitting there, watching other customers. Yet, in that situation, the manager had nothing to say to them. But when a woman who just paid for a phone is waiting for her upgrades to finish, she gets asked three times why she’s there? Really? Both of my phones were right under your table! I’m honestly disappointed with this experience and have no desire to return to your...
