This was such a demeaning experience. When i arrived i was so cheerful and tried to make small talk with the young lady with the curly hair and she was not responsive and barely glanced at me. I then stayed quiet and just kept to myself. Then another employee started to help another person on the selling waitlist and were having a pleasant conversation. Midway towards my selling experience the the employee helping me decides to finally start conversation, i guess she picked up on the pair next to us what real customer service looks like. At this point i just couldnt wrap my mind around why did it take her so long to engage with her customer and I just made short responses. I felt her stare at me for not continuing the conversation and yup once I glanced at her she was hard core staring at me. Just completely unprofessional.
Also, i understand that they're selective and look for certain clothes or conditions but there were some styles that were literally identical to what the person next to me was selling and they did take theirs. The young lady helping me said that she did not take it cause it was worn out but the clothes that I actually wore the most are the ones she kept. And then the other employee told the one helping me to give my item a higher price than what she wanted to give me....Just take your stuff somewhere else to sell, it's really not worth your time, energy or money to deal with...
Read moreI tried to return a sweater that I bought the night before. I didn’t have the physical receipt but had a photo of it. The photo was very clear, with the bar code and everything. The sweater also had the tags still attached. The employee that attended to me was incredibly rude and lacked good customer service. She would not exchange the item even when I offered to go home and print a photo of the receipt and bring it back so they could have a physical copy of it. She kept saying no and saying there was nothing she could do. This was incredibly frustrating especially considering this is a used clothing store. At the very least I would have expected her to “buy back” the item to keep a customer happy. The good news is I called another buffalo exchange to see if they would do it and they happily did. I understand people have bad days, but the way this employee made me feel and inconvenienced me is unacceptable. I have lived in SF for 10 years now and will never shop at this buffalo exchange again. I will also advise others not to shop at...
Read moreVery special shout-out to Benji (hope I spelled that correctly) who actually found some missing AirPod Pros I had thought I lost that was in the pockets of one of my jackets and actually returned back to me! They meticulously went through two moving boxes full of clothes. Although only one item was taken in, I really appreciate the warmth, thoughtfulness and even helping me reload my items back into my boxes.
Sometimes the selling process at consignment stores can be so cold but I really appreciate Benji’s warmth today and it really stuck out compared to any experience I’ve had at Crossroads. ♥️
PS i also ended up buying two items - they have some nicer things on the rack than usual. Definitely worth revisiting if you haven’t gone in awhile to see what things...
