Love & Luxe — Local services in San Francisco

I used to love this place and go there for special occasions, but after a really disappointing customer service experience I am going elsewhere. I bought a relatively expensive necklace as a present to myself for a big birthday - not at all what I would normally spend on jewelry. The necklace clearly had a faulty clasp and fell off twice in less than a month. The first time I thought it was a fluke, the second time it was gone for good. I called Love and Luxe to see if there was anything they could do, but after leaving 2 messages I only got a response on the third call. At that point the shop owner refused to talk to me and offered 20% off on a new necklace through some back and forth with a store associate (who I will say was lovely on the phone and obviously sympathized with my situation). I wasn't expecting a major discount, but small business owners usually care more about their customers, especially when dealing with expensive products. So, I expected better treatment over all. I would highly recommend either Nick Engel or Metier instead if you are looking to buy something nice and receive reliable...

such a wide selection of unique jewelry, and the people who work here really go above and beyond. my partner and i visited SO many small shops in the bay area in search of wedding rings, and this was the best shopping experience.

Love & Luxe is a hip, high-end jewelry gallery on one of the hipper, more high-end parts of Valencia. The store is beautiful and features a curated collection of jewelry made by local artists. Yes, the prices are high, however this is not the kind of place where you'll find mass-produced sterling silver. Loads of awesome, unique pieces.

The shop owner is very friendly and is good about helping the customer admire the pieces, rather than pressing them to buy. She also seems to have good personal relationships with the artists, many of whom can be seen in the store. Classy...
