SoMa West Dog Park — Attraction in San Francisco

I like it here because there seems to be a variety of dogs and people. No one is snooty although it seems like when you first arrive no matter who you are (the just arriver or the been there for a whiler) everyone is mutually hesitant of the other as the dogs are but it isn't long before everyone warms up and is chatting about the dogs and such. I also share my dogs preference for the astro turf he loves throwing himself down and wiggling around on his back, and I know that he won't be cutting his paw pads on any sharp rocks as he did at a different dog park. There's a water fountain and a separate area for small dogs if you so choose. Location is cool it's not loud for being under an overpass and conveniently located next to a skate park. Please if you go there, leave the dog snobbishness...

We didn't luv this one. It's too small and the neighborhood crowd was slightly hostile. I suppose I can understand; there's hardly room for a half dozen dogs to play and they don't want to encourage interlopers. There is a separate (even tinier) spot for small dogs, way too small for throwing ball. Jake wouldn't even go into the larger area last time, tho (I gave it 4 separate tries at different times of day/week before giving up) because the other dogs had ganged up on him. He's usually very social but they were pretty aggressive and I think he felt boxed in (I'm no Cesar Malone it was just obvious). Jake jumped into my lap and a dog put his paws on my knees to bark in his face - no one intervened. Y'all can have ur bit of astroturf, we've found many better places to play thank...

Nice little stretch of Astro turf for you dog to run free on. For the most part it's clean and haven't seen any turds left on the floor.

Location is kinda cool but at the same time kind of odd because your in this corner below an overpass. Been there twice and both times there was nobody for young reptar to play with.

There's a separate area for small dogs. It's open till midnight which is awesome. A few homeless people look like they've claimed a spot near the entrance but hey, this is SF, name a place where you won't find that and they...
