This is an awesome pizza joint for a number of reasons. From the top...
They make tasty pizza! An element crucial to any pizza place, it was not overlooked by the owners. Everyone knows - pizza is pizza. True, but some pizza is way more pleasurable to eat than others. Pizza Zone got that better kind!

The slices are good size. They aren't too greasy, you won't be fishing for toppings in a puddle of oil. Same goes for tomato (toh-muh-toe?) sauce - no overkill here. And the biggest challenge when it comes to pizza composition, in my opinion, the thing that is most often overlooked - the bread is delicious! Makes me wanna it the whole slice with the crust.
The kitchen is open and right in front of you in plain sight. It's always nice to be able to see your food as it is prepared.
And they also have an extensive menu filled with other tasty classics like burgers and fries 🍟🍔🌭🥓 as well as alternatives for the more selective feeders such as veggie burgers 🥦🍄 and deserts 🍰🍭
Overall, the prices are good and they got a great deal on sodas. Centrally located and here is another outstanding quality: OPEN 9o. It is unreasonably hard to get food in SF after 10 and Pizza Zone is there for us.
Delivery and take out available.
The place itself is HUGE, reminiscent of a whale... No, more of a hangar. They have a few old school arcades and a gumball 🤯 machine💥 Great for large groups and kids.
Another thing I appreciate, which most probably don't care for, are the people that work here. Of course they're nice and polite - they're in the service industry - but also they're real people from the surrounding communities. Folks who may find it increasingly difficult to compete with the influx of everything in the city. To me that hiring policy speaks for the owners or the management. They're the kind of people who maintain humane business practices instead of treating employees like numbers. They help keep community alive. They widen the window of opportunities for those who otherwise find that window shrinking after being chewed up and spit out by the system. The numbers are already against them. I respect and appreciate that.
There you have it. Some of the best pizza around, open late, up front and honest, and the whole nine yards. Good place!
P S. I'll try and take some pics next time I'm...
Read moreWe're on vacation from the South, and California traffic had my nerves so messed up that I tossed my dinner night before last. So, last night we decided to just order in. The kids and I got excellent sushi from next door to the hotel, and we were going to order pizza hut or dominoes for my husband, who has the palate of a toddler. Neither delivers to our Bay-view hotel, oddly enough. We asked the front desk hostess if any local pizza places delivered, and she gave us pamphlets from 2. One is not delivering due to the plague (sad, as it was a pizza & shawarma spot and I totally placed to order some falafel and tabouli, sigh) so... Pizza Zone to the rescue! We called, they assured us they could deliver, AND in 40 minutes or less. They were friendly, helpful, and fast. I ordered an "XL fam size" thinking that would provide him dinner, breakfast, and maybe lunch, even if the kids helped. That monstrosity is the biggest pizza I've ever seen. It was also hot, delicious, extra cheesy, with a hella good crust and piles of meat, and it arrived in under 40 minutes... Which I find superhuman considering the traffic everywhere and construction literally at our hotel sidewalk. 10/10,...
Read moreThe most horrendous service I’ve ever experienced. Placed an online order at 12:45 am and was given a pickup time between 1:05am-1:20am. Arrived at 1:05 and was completely ignored by the cashier who would not pay me any attention. She was calling out other names and I couldn’t see any orders up so I took a seat. At 1:20, I went up and told her my name and asked if my 2 pesto burgers were ready. She very aggressively shouted at me that it wasn’t ready. In the meantime, people who had ordered at the till after me were receiving their orders. I waited another 10 minutes and asked her how much longer for my food, to which she asked what I had ordered. I repeated 2 pesto burgers at which point she starts shouting at me claiming that she’s been calling my name for ages. She literally threw a pen at me and made me sign a receipt, giving me the most menacing look I’ve ever received, as if I wanted to spend an hour of my early morning sitting in this dingy joint. $35 for 2 burgers that had clearly been sitting on the counter for ages as they were cold and the fries were soggy….. worth...
