In 2012 I selected various components and assembled a desktop computer for both daily hobbyist use since I was retired and as part of my home theater. This computer served flawlessly for 12 years running Windows 7 and was used for genealogy family tree research and a media server for music and videos. I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for family tree photo restoration using Photoshop, audio editing using Audition and video editing using Premiere Pro. This desktop with Windows 7 and Adobe CS5.5 lifetime product met my needs and life was good.
Unfortunately in mid December 2023 an accident resulted in catastrophic failure of the desktop due to a coffee spill. I selected new components and hired a local computer store to assemble a new desktop and load Windows 11. ALL applications I was using before installed and work on the new desktop EXCEPT Adobe CS5.5 which would not install due to the overly complex and convoluted installation process. I contacted Adobe and of course their only solution is their Uncreative Unreliable Cloud with expensive monthly subscription. I was stuck!
Unlike every other application I use, the lifetime purchase Adobe CS5.5 product that met my needs and worked for me would not install. The Adobe support person extolled the contrived virtues of their Uncreative Unreliable Cloud product. I had spent 10+ years dealing with Adobe arcane, non-intuitive, complex program user interfaces and learning how to do relatively simple tasks. I did not want to start learning another vendor’s products so I made the mistake of upgrading.
For the past 8 months I’ve struggled to accomplish any of the tasks I used to do with Adobe CS5.5. The program user interfaces are all TOTALLY different and nothing I used to do works. This is much worse than learning another vendor’s products because I have to UNLEARN what used to work and attempt to learn the new mess.
Photoshop is unusable because AI and other garbage popups keep appearing right on top of what I’m trying to edit leading to total frustration and accomplishing nothing.
Then there is Adobe extreme arrogance where Adobe thinks it is the center of the universe so even though I might want to OCCASIONALLY use an Adobe program, it always starts up over 50 processes consuming computer resources EVERYTIME THE COMPUTER BOOTS and you can’t avoid it. If you try you get chastised with warnings that the world will come to an end. It takes five to ten times longer to boot the computer for something I won’t be using that day.
The epitome of Adobe arrogance is Premiere which will not open a video file on a shared drive. Adobe bull claims their cloud with its thousand points of failure is more reliable than my hardwired gigabit Ethernet connected shared drives. I have NEVER USED A CLOUD and NEVER WILL. Cloud storage is unreliable, an enormous security risk, slow performance and expensive. Worst yet, Premiere behaves differently each time I attempt to use it.
Heaven forbid your septuagenarian hand shakes a bit and you click slightly off where you want – boing – the whole screen changes and you have no clue what it did nor how to get it back AND THERE IS NO UNDO for whatever it was you did. Most of the video editing functions I used to use were labeled obsolete and now have suddenly, without warning, without my approval, silently disappeared with no single selection alternative. UNACCEPTABLE
Bottom line Adobe Uncreative Unreliable Cloud Product does NOT meet my needs and life sucks! I am no longer able to do the hobbyist activities I used to do with Adobe CS5.5. I’ve canceled the subscription and removed all traces of Adobe from my computer and will never have anything to do with Adobe. Don’t make the mistake I did.

At Fotolia, if you make a mistake during submission of a photograph (and novices like me -do- make mistakes) they will not only not work with you to correct the problem but they will start dealing with you in the most unprofessional way possible.
They will belittle you and condescend you. I wasn't aware of all the rules and regulations of Key-wording (Indexing) a photograph during submission. Once they saw that I'd made mistakes, they simply started rejecting those photos. Their Review process is haphazard. It is totally subjective in that it depends solely on the Reviewer... if he is in good mood, your picture will sail through else he will reject it without any real reason.
They asked me to go through all my 900 photos to see that there are no inadvertent mistakes. So, I corrected all my 900 photographs to correct any indexing issues to the best of my ability. But again, without much guidance they started pointing out that I still had issues with my keywords and again started rejecting photos. This time even those photos that were accepted AND SOLD.
The person who has been kicking me around is "Mat Hayward". He will belittle you and if you argue with him, he will start your previously accepted photographs. He will also threaten that he will close your account permanently, if you did not follow guidelines exactly according to him. He will then belittle and condescend you.
I am taking this matter up the ladder at Fotolia. I've been with them for 3 years; 900 of my photographs have been accepted and over a 1000 sold. Then they find this issue of incorrect keywords (no one pointed that out to me for 3 years - why?) and are now taking full advantage of the fact that I am a novice. Because of Contributors like me they make money. And if they treat me like this, I don't know how they treat others.

I started this membership on a free membership . that’s when I figured out that it wouldn’t work with the first seven days,after I downloaded it to my HP, I figured out the pprogram was crap and I couldn’t afford that each month when the return investment was not there. Then they decided to charge charge my card on June 28 $24.60 , then I canceled it because they literally left me four dollars in my banking account so I couldn’t even get gas in my car. This is a scam and a joke !! Then I cancel due it be to expensive and not able to use the program and then they took $123.00 July 3rd for me canceling my membership , and I only have access to it until the end of July but they sure have the whole year worth of money . when I was not using it couldn’t use it on my computer and I couldn’t afford! So as ofJuly 3 they have taken 147.60 from my family , so there goes my water bill, to something I have no use for and not able to use because it won’t edit my photos. Do better you guys are really bad. We should be able to cancel the membership if it’s not compatible or it’s not working at not charge!!! you guys should be able to give me a refund because this is ridiculous paid for a whole year and it ended at the end of July. because I canceled my membership, but you guys got your money.
