TownePlace Suites Downtown San Jose is brand new and already feels like the premier hotel choice for travelers, families, and especially parents visiting their college students. It’s located just minutes from downtown San Jose, close to great food, entertainment, and major corporate offices. For us, the best part is how close it is to San Jose State—making it a perfect home base for college visits and events.
The hotel offers breakfast daily, and while parking isn’t free, it is reasonably priced and much safer than leaving your car out on the street. It gave us peace of mind and made check-in and unloading easy.
The rooms were clean, modern, and well-kept. Everything felt fresh and in order, which made settling in easy. But what really stood out was the service. From check-in to check-out, the staff was warm, professional, and consistently helpful. They answered every question we had about the hotel, local dining, and attractions without hesitation or attitude.
We’ve stayed at other Marriott properties nearby, and in one case were met with a less-than-friendly response when we asked simple questions. Here, it was the opposite. They welcomed our questions, made suggestions, and truly treated us like guests—not just customers passing through.
If you’re looking for a place that’s clean, well-located, and committed to great hospitality, this is it. Whether you’re in town for business, school, or fun, book your stay here and know you’ll be taken care of.

As a loyal Marriott customer who has consistently had pleasant experiences in the past, I was quite disappointed with my recent stay.
First and foremost, we accidentally left our personal belongings (a hairdryer and straightener) in the room at checkout. Unfortunately, by the time we realized, it was already late. We immediately tried contacting the hotel staff multiple times, but received no response or follow-up. This kind of unresponsiveness is not something I would expect from a brand like Marriott, known for its hospitality and customer care. I genuinely hoped for a more professional and considerate response, especially as a loyal member.
Secondly, the breakfast experience left much to be desired for vegetarian guests. There were practically no vegetarian options available. On top of that, most of the waffle makers were out of service during our stay, further reducing the already limited choices. The food refills were not timely, and the menu remained very repetitive with minimal supervision or staff assistance.
While I still hold Marriott in high regard based on my previous stays, this particular experience was disappointing. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and ensures better responsiveness and inclusive hospitality...
Read more5-star customer service. Hotel is brand new, very clean and nice. Only two (2) days old when we stayed, they were having some normal technical difficulties any place would have the first few days after opening. Aiyanna took care of it and checked us in manually, comp’d our snacks and walked us to our room, she was very sweet and helpful.
My daughter had to be to her volleyball tourney early the next morning and we could not be there for the 7am breakfast. As we walked out of the elevator at 630am, Olivia was waiting for us, she was amazing. Olivia gave my daughter a hand written inspirational note and a to-go breakfast of her choice, four (4) choices to be exact. This is true customer service and so thankful for Marriott. Thank you so much, my daughter and her entire volleyball team...
