I hate complaining but here are some practical and constructive information for those out there that are looking to rent the condo or spaces for private event.
Amenities-Amenity is not free here! Cost you a lot for different things because they called it reservation for better experience. Fancy language to charge you for something that should already part of your rent.
Lifestyle Team (this is what they called here)- Absolutely dysfunctional!!! We rented out the West Tower for my wedding. $500/hr by the way. $300/lounge and $200/outdoor space by the hour. They give you 30 minutes prior to your booking to get the key so you can start set up. Their Lifestyle manager informed this to us about a week before our weeding date. This doesnât help because wedding invites were sent 2 months prior. We l would adjust our timing if this information was communicated to us properly. We paid a total of $2100 for 4 hrs booking because $100 for cleaning fee. With zero support and communication and dysfunctional space is pretty stiff. By the way, the pricing on their Apps only disclosed $300/hr for the lounge this is separate from the surround space outside the lounge, LOL. I asked for the pricing disclosure policy because I donât like being blindsided being charge for the $200/hr for the surrounding area. Nothing thus far! Will wait to see what they come back with but as expected their Lifestyle team is not responding as usual.
For those that still plan to rent out their space for your bday, wedding , etc. Here is the real problem, their outdoor area of the sky-deck has ZERO electric outlet. We burned thru the first hour between 4 people and 2 of their staffs barely got anything accomplished. We end up connecting the cords from the outlet inside of the lounge for the Photo Booth and DJ. To make matter Worse is The door to the lounge keeps closing on us. We ran back down looking for their staff yo help and they gave us 3 door stoppers but the door stoppers were no good. This is a Real problem for event set up and great way to have guests locked throughout the event. So folks, Bring a block of brick or 2 to keep the lounge door stay open. This is a joke because why can they just keep the lounge unlocked for the time it was rented out. Thatâs no brainer!
At the end when I complain, their other manager said i could pay additional hr or 2 so I can set up for my wedding. I told her thatâs not the point. Sheâs missing it! Lack of communication is the issue of this team. All could have been avoided and Leaving customers stranded at the last moment. Terms and details would be helpful and send it out in advance to help us prepare but we have ZERO communication from their Lifestyle Manager. Absolute Nothing!!! At this premium pricing to charge your residents for using amenity spaces for a place that they live in, please work harder to justify that. Otherwise, it seems to us that your team is trying to hard to make $$$. Hire people that willing to work. Thereâs no use to have a team of managers that just show up to look sharp and collecting pay check and not working.
Lease and Team-Took them over 5 weeks to added my son to the lease and get extra fob after 4 visits to the office asking them for updates. Every time I asked no one seems to know. Paper get lost and staffs doesnât communicate with each other.
Experience and communication-I have been living here for almost a year. Apartment is safe and pretty. Front desk, maintenance, and package delivery folks are friendly. The rest of the managers are really really bad. It seems like they come to work dressed really sharp but not doing much. you have to bug them many many times to get anything moving (getting the lease application pushing through and not communicating at all) unless you drag yourself to the office and bug them weeks after weeks.
I hope the owner read this. Train your team to communicate ( up, down, and across) and hire someone thatâs willing to help and work. If youâre going to slap a premium price then make...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I lived at Miro Apartments for 2.5 years from 2022 to 2024, and overall, we had a really positive experience. Like any place, it had its pros and cons, but the good definitely outweighed the bad.
The Pros The building itself is modern and well-designed. You get stainless steel appliances, nice cabinets, tall ceilings, and walls so thick that hearing your neighbors is a rarity. The amenities are insane: the pool area is beautiful and well-maintained, the gym is spacious and has a wide range of equipment, and the community lounge areas are perfect for working from home or relaxing. There is also a decently sized dog park area, making it super convenient to take your dog at any time of day. There are frequent and genuinely fun community events, which helped us meet other residents and made the building feel more connected.
The location can be a perk at times. For concerts/sports you are walking/biking distance from SAP center and there is a tram line that takes you directly to Leviâs stadium. There are plenty of good bars and some decent restaurants; most notably, Rollati which is conveniently located at the base of the building that offers free delivery to Miro residents, which we used all the time. The fact that it is across from city hall also has its occasional benefits since city events like Mexican Independence Day and San Jose Lowrider Day are right at your doorstep.
The Cons There's no hot tub, which seems like an insane miss. Parking is expensive. When we lived there it was $275 per month for a single spot. The rooftop lounge is great but closes at 10pm, which feels early on weekends. Trash chutes on lower levels occasionally get backed up. Also, some of the pricing and leasing tactics feel a bit misleading. For example, at one point I noticed that the rent amounts displayed on their website have current concession discounts already priced in to make the base rent look cheaper than it actually is.
The location can be a downside as well at times. Living on one of the lower levels, we heard our fair share of screaming homeless at night and the area overall isnât the cleanest. Though, I will say this issue improved during our time there and itâs not something out of the ordinary for a bigger city.
The Life Source of Miro â THE PEOPLE Despite those drawbacks, what really sets Miro apart is the people. The staff here are the backbone of the community. Nikki, the event coordinator, goes above and beyond for every single community event. You can tell she puts real thought and care into making them fun and inclusive. Mark, the gym trainer, is awesome. His classes (included in your lease) are challenging, motivating, and he brings a great sense of humor that keeps things fun. Shaun in management really makes an effort to get to know the residents and is always kind and transparent when it comes to asking questions. Sang at the package desk is consistently friendly and helpful. The cleaning crew deserves a shoutout too. Every aspect of this building is spotless at all times (special shoutout to Gabriel who we would always see at the dog park) And the front desk team, especially Isaac: responsible, polite, and always willing to help. Felicia from management is another standout: always warm and making sure your needs are met.
Tl;DR Miro is on the pricier side, but in downtown San Jose, it is hands-down the best option. If youâre looking for a building with high-end apartments, amazing amenities strong sense of community, fantastic staff, and the occasional homeless screaming match to lull you to sleep, this...
