Westgate Center — Attraction in San Jose

I am writing to report harassment by security staff at the mall's food court today. My wife, my 3 year old son and I were eating dinner in the food court around 7pm. We ordered our food at 6:42 pm, and got it around 6:50/6:55 pm. We were about half way through our dinner when a security person came around at about 7:05pm and said that the mall is closed. She went to all the tables where people were eating to tell them the same thing. She came back a second time to our table to remind us that the mall was closed. We continued eating and feeding our 3 year old son. A few minutes later, around 7:10pm, a different security person came around telling everyone that the mall was closed. When she came to our table, I asked her what she'd like us to do. She said the mall is closed and we should leave. I told her we weren't going anywhere without finishing our dinner. She got angry, and threatened that she'll call the cops. I told her to go ahead. She said she is only doing her job and following mall policy. I told her we don't want to be harassed repeatedly by her and her colleagues, and I will start taking a video of our interaction. She walked away in a huff. A couple of minutes later, she came back and again started telling us that the mall is closed and she is just doing her job. I took out my phone with the intent of recording the interaction. She reached across the table towards my phone but I didn't let her get to my phone. She said that I can't take her photo or video. I said I sure can take any photos/videos in a public space. She went away angrily. I saw her speaking to someone on the phone, maybe her supervisor. We didn't hear from her or any of her colleagues again. We finished our dinner a few minutes later and left around 7:20pm. At that time, there were still some folks finishing their food at some tables. We even saw a few folks coming in through the mall gates.

I know that the security personnel are just doing their job, and this harassment is really the manager's fault who tells their staff to get people out as soon as the mall has officially closed, even if they are still eating. If you really want everyone to be out by 7pm, you shouldn't allow food court restaurants to take for-here orders after 6:30pm. You can't allow restaurants to be open until 7pm, and then repeatedly harass people who are still eating until 7:15pm,...

ZERO STARS!!! Horrible experience at TJ Maxx. My girlfriend and I were harassed by the store manager Gabrielle. My girlfriend had asked if there was a bathroom available. Gabrielle responded by showing her the bathroom but also stating that she can't take her cart in there with her. That was never my girlfriend's intention...She then proceeded to take the cart from her. Confusing my girlfriend. Not aware that she was my girlfriend, Gabrielle brought the cart towards the front where I was at and began to talk smack to one of her co-workers. Looking through each item and saying... " Oh yeah she was definitely going to steal this and that..." yada yada. Saying how the girl in the bathroom is for sure broke and there's no way she could afford all the 10 items in her cart! How they saved the day by taking the cart from her! OMG ARE THEY SO WRONG!!! All while my girlfriend was using the restroom... I noticed that the cart they were talking about was my girlfriend's so I held my tounge and proceeded to the bathroom to tell my girlfriend. All of a sudden the store manager, Gabrielle opens the bathroom door. She realizes that I heard her smack talk and I went to notify my girlfriend. So she ran off. Literally hid behind aisles. We hurry tried to find and confront her and caught her looking through items on a shelf at us hidden behind the aisle. Once we caught up to her we asked her politely what her name was. She refused to answer blocking her name tag. She kept repeating... "Is there anything else I can help you with?" When we began asking questions and kept requesting for her name. She ended up walking away back to the front. My girlfriend leaves embarrassmed, belittled, and upset. In tears!! I go to the front to get the managers name and she is standing there with her co-workers once again laughing at us. I get a look at her name tag finally and I take a picture of her but she turns away. (Lady in the back-far left in picture.) I have spent thousands at not only TJ Maxx, but that location in specific. I am so upset that they treated my girlfriend and myself in such a cruel way! How dare they! Extremely unprofessional and childish! We are sueing them. Zero questions asked. Never will go there again! Don't go here! Don't waste your money to only be falsely incriminated or laughed about! They don't care for their customers not even...

I love this place because if I need to get coffee there's starbucks there. If I decide I need some household supplies I can stop by target. If I need a quick outfit for my daughter there's a Carter's/Osh, crazy 8, gap, old navy, Burlingtons or Justice store there. There is also a Michael's craft store, a kids play park next to the gymboree. Also the westgate sna ck shack is yummy (the old orange julius), torrid, a new jewelry place, some kiosk stores, the luggage store (thats been there since the dawn of time), xfinity, tuxedo rental/hemming store, ross, dim sum place, boba tea place, king eggroll is coming, as well as a poke place coming. There is a race car track place in there too, Nordstrom rack, nike outlet, the dentist (is closing being forced out after 20 years), there's a dance school, an alterations shop, a hair salon thats closing, a salon school, any mountain, jcrew outlet, old navy and on the outside of the mall fishs wild, subway, matress store, gamestop, at&t, willow street pizza, buffalo wild wings, the blue door restaurant, Lens Crafters, mens warehouse, the corner bakery cafe, walmart grocery store, some other random clothing store and a perfume outlet store. Plus there are monthly mommy& me & daddy too events. The orchid society does shows there and the chrysanthimums...
