Left in more pain than i came in with
This is just my experience. Gave 3 stars because my partner had a great time and everyone was nice. If i judged it on my massage alone it would be 1 or 2 stars. --Start with the good? The facility is gorgeous and every one is very nice. They have very cute bathing suits too. Check in was easy. The hot tub was very nice. And they seem to be taking covid seriously. --Now for the bad. It started with my allergies. I have 2 that i cant ingest so i asked if those 2 things were in the aromatherapy or the tea. No they weren't so that was quick and easy. But the other 2 things are preservatives sometimes found in lotion. So my massage therapist was late picking me up from the wait room and i asked her if i could read the bottles ingredients. I figured that was the easiest way to check. It took 15 minutes for her to get the bottle and get back to me because she was very very confused by the situation. Should have been simple to just let me check? The lotion didnt have it. So we started with the massage. Paid for an hour but at this point it was going to be 40 minutes. It was SO. PAINFUL. massages are about moving fluids around and releasing muscles. The entire time she pushed on my bones. 3 days later im still in pain and bruised. Every stroke if she was just half an inch over she would have been right in the muscle vein and it would have been great. The other half of the time it tickled sooo badly. If i brought it up i was told not to worry. Dont get me wrong she was very very nice! I just dont think she knew anything about massage. It was very confusing. I started bruising (i dont bruise easily) an hour or so later. It was a splurge. A valentines day treat. My partner had a wonderfullll time. He was so relaxed. His therapist was very good and my other friend requests him every time so -- i feel my painful experience was a unique one-- please consider that if you choose to go here. Im hesitant to go again because how awful my massage was but i feel if you get there early (for allergy checking and such) and make sure you look into what massage therapist you get you shoukd have a great time! Im happy my partner had such a...
Read moreAn extraordinary experience all around! The facility is beautiful, from the change room/bathroom area, the treatment rooms, and the outdoor pool patio space. Before your treatment, you get a robe & sandals to change into and then relax in a "waiting lounge" with pretty vintage furniture, calming music, and drinks/snacks. When you book your appointment, they ask for your robe & shoe sizes, and then they are waiting for you in your locker! It's a lovely touch. And the robe sizes go up to a 4X. My husband and I had a couples massage, and they were amazing - we both ended up falling asleep during the treatment because we were so relaxed. After our massages, we were taken to a sitting room with some fresh cookies and tea for some extra pampering. And then we had access to the outdoor terrace with the pool, hot tub, loungers, and bar. We ordered some yummy drinks and sandwiches for lunch and then lounged & swam the afternoon away. We were allowed to keep our lockers until the spa closed (at 5 p.m.). It was great to be able to keep our stuff safely inside. And then afterward, we were able to shower with the amazing body scrub sample they gave us - just wonderful. We can't...
Read moreWe booked the couple's deep tissue massage for a girl's weekend and The Spa did not disappoint! Hannah (front desk) was very sweet and explained everything thoroughly. Jason and Murat were absolutely amazing! Understandable that there are people who aren't comfortable with someone of the opposite sex when it comes to something so intimate, but both of them were incredibly professional and sensitive to our needs. Let me tell you, Jason's hands are made of pure magic and this was BY FAR the best deep tissue I have EVER experienced - don't sleep on male providers if you can appreciate intensity the way I do! We would have preferred chilled champagne over tea at the end of our service (just a thought, considering it was nearly in the 80's outside) like other places offer. There are only 2 actual downsides to this place - you have to walk through the entire pool area to get to it, which is a bit awkward and slippery, and our appointments were stacked with a few others so the locker room was crammed and we were all on top of each other trying to get in/out of our lockers. Highly recommend The Spa, Jason and Murat. Thank you for a...
