My husband and I visited this mini golf course around 10pm after a day at the beach. Allen at the desk was very helpful and funny so he was the one that encouraged us to actually stay for a game. The prices were reasonable as well so it didn't feel highway robbery.
We enjoyed the silly, but well-designed course. We did the tougher adult course, not the kid's one, so we had a few putts that were tougher than others. There were 3 other small groups of people on the course, but they started way after us so everyone was socially distanced accordingly. One was a group of 3 guys, another was a family of 3 with a kid, and the other group was 3 friends (I think 2 ladies, 1 guy). We were probably the only ones wearing masks. The masks helped cover up the smell coming from the water...The only complaint that I have would be the awful smell of standing water coming from the manmade waterfall / swamp. I was surprised there weren't any mosquitos or bugs out, but that smell was disgusting enough to skip that hole before the cave. We just held our breath and speed walked thru that part.
After we finished the course (the last hole keeps your ball and rolls it thru a pvc pipe system so make sure you're done before you take that shot), we took photos around the course and bought a few golf balls as gifts for our family's golfers. This place is/was a great stop before we left Daytona. Highly recommended if you're into golfing with friends or just wanna have silly fun with...
Read moreProbably the best-maintained miniature golf course I've ever been on. The holes, landscaping, paint, etc, all are like you're playing on a course that just opened and is new. This is especially indicative of how much pride they have in the course as it's across the street from the beach. I've played at Pirate's Cove in Orlando as well as mini-golf in Colorado, California, Disneyworld, and even some overseas. While this site isn't terribly challenging (both of their courses are actually quite easy) it makes up for it in maintenance and staff. Hopefully you go on a day when Alice is working the front desk. She's one of those super energetic and fun people who love their job, and it shows. She even tries to keep up the pirate theme with her dialog. If you live locally or are in town long enough that you might want to play more than once, ask about their...
Read moreI've been playing at this course for around 20 years now. They have always had good, friendly service, the course is always in good repair, and they have recently even changed the decorations some.
Throughout the 2 courses, aptly named Captain Kidd's Adventure and Blackbeard's Revenge, there are plaques with interesting pirate facts. Also some funny tombstones. The ocean breeze helps keep it relatively cool, but in the summer it's still sweltering hot, so either bring water or buy some at the front desk. They also sell ice cream which makes a refreshing reward once you finish! Like most other golf courses they also sell special balls that you can keep (don't use on hole #18!!!!!) And are rather good at changing them up once and a while.
I use to play here with my parents when I was a child, now I bring my kids...
