I have taken several sailing classes at Modern Sailing and had wonderful instructors who instilled the knowledge and confidence to sail on my own. Since passing the American Sailing Association classes 101 and 103, I have used several of the Modern Sailing Charter fleet boats for taking friends and family out on the Bay. They were very impressed with my skills, and even said they would like to go again (a good sign). My wife was also motivated to take classes and we are now in the process of getting a boat of our own. All the staff I have been in contact with at Modern Sailing (including Hind, Rachael, Kira, Jeff, and Sam) have been superb: very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with my novice questions and concerns. I don't know where they find such great people. If you want to learn to sail with competence, confidence and safety, I highly recommend this school.

Booked a 4 hr private lesson with Capt. Jeff on board the Double Lotus. Fantastic experience! The boat was top notch, and Capt. Jeff is an well experienced and patient skipper and instructor. I am a newbie with very limited experience and wanted time on the water in preparation for taking ASA 101/103 in May. Capt.Jeff shared a few tips that will serve me well in moving forward. His approach to feeling the wind was especially helpful. All the staff I encountered at Modern Sailing made the chartering experience smooth and easy. Thanks to Angel for answering all my questions. The Boat is a beautiful place to sail and the people at Modern Sailing will provide you with terrific instruction. Looking forward to my next lesson!

This place is superb. An incredible fleet of boats, from the affordable, smaller, older Catalinas to brand new Beneteau mega yachts (well, at least for my means). They have a great variety of charter timing options (including a great sunset only sail). Their classes are great (took one with instructor Bill Moreland) and fairly priced, especially if purchased as a package. The location is also great. Quiet and tucked away, yet easy to reach. The picnic tables at the marina are perfect for a chat and a snack before or after a sail. Couldn't be more pleased with this business. Next best thing to owning a boat, or, wait, maybe even better.
