Walked into the store as I was looking for a hat on a very sunny and hot day. I did not have my reading glasses on so could not read the price tag on the sticker. So I asked the employee or the owner -a male with beard and moustache who lirerally snapped at me. I explained that I did not have my reading glasses and would like to know the price-. He stood up and picked up a hat to point at me and then in an extremely condascending tone said that each hat has a price tag to read- I apologized and then left. Store was empty so it is not that he was bothered by my question when he was helping other customers and that my question took away from his precious time from other customers which should not really matter if the store believes in providing customer service of any kind. The worker/owner was just sitting there and texting on his phone. So this individual spent more time in giving a sarcastic and rude answer which took much longer and visible effort than just givinng me the price of the hat. In any case I found other stores down the street where they had much better hats and superior customer service and the price of hats in those stores were just $9.99 versus this store where the hat was $49.99 and above. So this so called "boutique" has very high priced items combined with extremely poor customer service which I guess are the true essence for running a successful and customer focused business or atleast that is what the store...
Read moreI found my happy place today in #sausalito just over the #goldengatebridge from San Francisco.
Set amongst beautiful buildings and overlooking the harbour, Sausalito is probably best known for its Richardson Bay houseboat enclaves, built by artist squatters after WWII.
Sausalito has a dynamic group of talented, local, visual artists and I was ready to explore.
As a lover of markets, handcrafted wares and all things creative, I wasn’t let down. I walked along the streets absorbing the sights, sounds and smells that come with a tight knit community and tourist attraction.
A highlight today was when I found @studio333downtown nestled away amongst the cafes and shops.
This small store was brimming with unique and interesting pieces, most of which are made locally.
I was first attracted to the glass soap trays, then the leather purses, then the earrings, the hats, the soap and so much more.
This place amongst many “fill my cup” soaking up all the joy and craftsmanship that people have within them.
I shall return again on another trip and explore more broadly what’s else Sausalito...

We stopped to pick up the call and as we started to talk, the lady owner came out, barking at us like a rabid dog, telling us to move away as she didn't want to hear us talking......
