I visited this shop last month whilst on a tour to muir Woods and Bay Cruise and the only reason why I am posting this now is because it came up over dinner yesterday and I was in deep denial after my visit and knew that I was profiled but so very much wanted to be wrong anyway I am mixed and I decided to go to this store at the recommendation of our tour guide while we had a little sightseeing break so I was super excited as I love socks and buy them from everywhere it's like an addiction. And right off the bat this lady gave me a look like why am I in the store. Mind you absolutely nothing about me screamed I'm going to steal out of your store. I had my 7 thousand dollar camera hanging from my neck um you know cause I like have a job and can buy things like thatđ I know shocker right đand a traveller's backpack everything about me screamed tourist. Well I start picking socks I want to buy and when I got to the back of the shop where there were bigger sizes she randomly came up to me and started counting the socks in my hand. This took me back but I was like well maybe she just needed to inventory them for some reason or something but I noticed she never did that to the white people that were in there. I was just saying in my head no no that's not what going on. I purchased 10 pairs of socks from this shop and even at purchase it just seemed like she was mad I had money or something. Even after me proving clearly I have money and am just shopping she still asked for my email under the guise that she was going to send me updates and discounts but I never received anything she just wanted my information. So if you are Latino, mixed or black enter this store with caution because you will be profiled and they will count your items to see if you are stealing which is really ironic to me because they have quite a selection of socks with black lingo and euphemisms on them. It doesn't matter how you are dressed or if it's clearly obvious you don't break the law they will still make it very much known that your are not welcomed. I will never buy socks here again which is unfortunate because they way I shop I definitely keep small businesses like this in business but I will never...
Read moreAness is the owner of Soxalito in Sausalito and she was an absolute delight. I was after some schnauzer socks for my daughter and she knew exactly where theyâd normally be but theyâd sold out.
There are socks for dog loves, cat lovers, horse lovers, musicians, artists, wine lovers, beer lovers and so much more. There were socks for summer or winter. Long socks and short socks. The funniest of all were the slightly raunchy socks that sayâŠ.well the pictures say it all for me.
The store is located centrally on Bridgewater Road opposite the yachts. Prices are reasonable and the ideal present to yourself to remind you of Sausalito or for that someone special in your life.
Iâll give you a warning though, you wonât leave with just one pair because I kept thinking âI could get a pair for my sonâ and then later âwait, a pair for dadâ and so on.
Thank you Aness for being so helpful to a couple of...
Read moreMy wife and took a trip here for vacation and decided to check out this store while we were there. Socks really aren't my thing but my wife wanted to check it out. There was a lot of socks to choose from but none that interested me. Well, the woman operating the store did not happen to notice that I did not tske any interest in anything in there because she stayed with me the entire time. I remained at the store's entrance while my wife shopped and this blonde haired woman stared at me like I had 2 heads. To was shortly after this that my wife pointed out that I was the only black person there (she's Hispanic). I could not wait to leave and I strongly suggest you reconsider shopping here unless you enjoy...
