Read moreI only took one class so my feedback is specifically about this experience. It might have been better another day with a different instructor.
I am a certified yoga teacher and I have been practicing for over 7 years mostly in Upstate New York and Houston.
At 8:45am the doors to the studio were still locked, even though the class started at 9:00am. There were several people waiting outside. It was a bit strange that no one was there, but once they arrived the check-in was fast.
I took their Hot Yasa Flow. The heat was great, the music was nice, but at times it was difficult to hear the instructor, Chelsa, because the music was too loud. The style of the flow class is very free and there were very few sun salutations. The sequence, in my opinion, was not put together with awareness. Several transitions were awkward and anatomically improper. At one point in the class we were laying down and then all of the sudden it was ab time. I have no problem with abs but they were just thrown in there at the last minute.
I noticed that Chelsa was attentive to several students, which is a sign that she cares for her students. However, I felt that she was somewhat disconnected from her yogis and there was a lack of breath awareness. Overall, it was an OK class. I got in a good sweat but the other aspects of yoga were missing for me.
I might come back again to check out...
Read moreI usually leave a yoga class feeling refreshed, relaxed, and happy. This was not the case after the class I just had with instructor Cassidy. I was with a friend who has a minor health issue going on and would whisper over to her a couple times throughout the class to ask if she was okay. One of the times Cassidy “shushed” me from across the room, even though my volume wasn’t even above a whisper. My friend and I ended up leaving the class 5 minutes early due to her being in some pain. Cassidy then came up to me after the class and felt the need to tell me we can’t be talking during the class. I told her why I was literally just checking to see if my friend was alright, to which she said if we need to do that to leave the classroom to do so because it’s a “distraction”. I would think leaving the class would be more distracting than taking 1 second to check in on my friend. We’ve both been to our fair share of yoga classes and know very well to not be rude, distracting or loud. The other 2 people we were with said they didn’t even notice anything. I guess having a safe and comfortable practice isn’t part of Cassidy’s class. If anything, it was probably more distracting to everyone that she kept messing up the instructions every 10 minutes because she couldn’t keep track...
