The park itself was relatively clean. It also boasted ample seating and what I believe was an "off leash area" for folks to play with their dogs in a safe and secure environment. (a valid concern for those who live within the bustling confines of a major metropolitan area.) the park boasts ample seating areas. Some of which are complete with cafe style tables and chairs which I thought to be a nice touch. The park is well lit at night. When coupled with the open and airy feel of the park itself, (you can visually see the street from anywhere within the park) I was given a semblance of safety while visiting. However, there was a rather large number of the homeless that I saw scattered throughout my walk from the North East corner to the southwest entrance of the park. Some sleeping in the grass while others were drinking and talk I g loudly. I would not recommend any women to walk alone there after dark unless carrying carrying some sort of means of self defense (tough sadly I believe that could be said about just about anywhere anymore as I have had several female friends tell me of attacks within the last year or so) of you do choose to do so, remain alert of your surroundings and be sure someone knows when you left and where...
Read moreTook my daughter to play in the park after driving for a while. There is only 3 play things for the kids to play on. A Mery go round that is netted for safety, pretty well I might add, an thing that has a simulated rock wall for climbing with two slides and a little playhouse. The whole park is netted by the park service because they are rebuilding the turf. So no one can play in the grass. There are a few benches to sit on and enjoy the sounds of the city and the construction nearby. There are no public restrooms. There is a place to take your dog and let them off their leash. It is a pleasant park and enjoyable. A nice spot to relax amid the hustle and bustle...

I really enjoyed the ambiance of the park and just how peaceful everything seemed to be.
There were groups gathered in the grass, relaxing and enjoying the sun, while at the same time, business persons could be seen on their daily commute.
We had visited because on the east side of the park there is a weekend market event which seemed pretty lively had we caught them before they started packing up in preparation for the...
