Our room over looked and ally and gas station. and noise form backing up garage trucks and delivery truck woke us (they did provide a white noise machine in our room) The room was one of the dirties I have ever stayed in. When checking in we were told there would be no maid service during our stay unless requested. had to requested additional sheets, pillows and blankets for the pull out sofa bed. Was told this would take a few hours as they could not find the person with the keys to the supply room. The sink bowel was cracked and water dripped out of the crack. The bathroom had one smallest lights and didn't light the shower which had not been cleaned. The carpet, curtains, and couch had stains. All the night stands and wood furniture had water damage, likely from the ice bucket. Their was a Walgreens across the street and whole foods few blocks away, but my wife did not feel safe when she walked to both locations. The Space needle and central park are walkable but there a lot construction in the block in between that required walking additional blocks with temporary road closures.
All doors and elevators require a key card except the main door. most people did not know how to use key card in the elevators and elevators were held up by people trying learn how to use the key card to access their floor.
Breakfast staff was very good and one or two changes each morning,
Once we left got a bill for $63.50 in Movie fees when we didn't order movies. called the hotel for a refund and spent 4 hours trying to get someone on the phone. Once I did I was told no one there could help me and they would have to call me back, Still waiting. I would not...
Read moreIf I were writing this review after my first night of my stay I would be giving it 2 stars. My original room was on the side of the hotel by the gas station and it was AWFUL. Car doors slamming all night, cars zooming in and out revving their engines, yelling, etc. Plus the most obnoxiously bright lights. I don't think I slept longer than 15 min at a time in that room. However, I went down to the front desk the next day and asked if I could switch rooms and they found me a different room not by the gas station which was infinitely better. Unfortunately, this resulted in me being excessively tired for the training I was in town for. My new room would have been 5 stars easily but since they gave me that horrible room to begin with I just want to give proper warning to others.
All that said, the location for this hotel is amazing. If you're here for 'touristy' activities you're super close to some of the best things to see downtown. It was close enough to the trail down by the bay for morning runs. The workout room is ENORMOUS and has a bunch of pelaton bikes - huge bonus for a triathlete travelling! Plus, every single staff member I interacted with was super kind, friendly and helpful!
A few more negatives - the breakfast was subpar compared to other Hyatts I've stayed at. The elevators are SO SLOW. And the parking is very tight, it was pretty vacant while I was there so it wasn't a huge deal but if it were a busy time parking would have been horrible.
All in all, definitely request a room that is NOT on the side of the hotel the gas station is. I would consider staying here again as long as I was sure I wouldn't get one of the...
Read moreNEVER STAY HERE! I unfortunately stayed here a few months ago in May for one night. Initially, things were going well, as the manager kindly let us check-in a few hours earlier than our check-in time. However, the next morning things went down hill fast. Before going down to the front desk to check out, my mom and I were starting to load our luggage and other personal belongings into our rental car that was parked in the parking garage that is connected to the hotel. When we came back to our room to retrieve the rest of our stuff, the cleaning lady had removed all of our personal belongings, including the $80 unopened box of pork buns that my mom bought specifically for my aunt, whose husband just passed away. Mind you, we did not leave our hotel room unlocked or opened. And of course, the only items left in the room were our opened food items from the previous day. When we asked her where our stuff was, she couldn’t tell us because there was a language barrier, as she didn’t speak any English. What was even more infuriating was that she was taking a personal phone call during the whole incident. We eventually got the manager involved and retrieved all of our personal belongings, including the $80 box of pork buns that of course were not thrown away, as the cleaning lady was planning to keep them for herself. The manager apologized, but also brushed it off like it wasn’t a big deal since we got all of our stuff back. Since when is it okay for the cleaning lady to barge into a guest’s room and take all of their personal belongings before the guests check out?? Safe to say I will NEVER stay at this hotel the next time I’m...
