Don't let the fact this is a vegetarian Indian eatery. You don't miss the meat. They are not a buffet style eatery and have a relatively condensed menu. Every month they have a different Thali (combo platter, if you will) with a theme, usually based on different regions. This is what they are known for. In the winter months, dishes have a bit more pop in the heat and summer has a bit more cooling. I've been coming here for years and have yet to have a bad item. Service is slower, but the freshness of the food makes up for it. You must try their Chai - it's different and tasty. They sell containers of the chai or the raw spices and tea in a bundle to make your own.

Good food. Lack spices a bit, but I can’t blame the chef as it’s based on how people prefer in States. Good thing is they serve / cook freshly prepared meals. So when we asked for thali we had to wait 1 hour . Exactly!!!! That too during the time of LUNCH on weekend. So be prepared for that. Pack some snacks which if you wnna go over there. Apart from that it’s an authentic restaurant. both special thali and normal Punjabi thali are good. I would go for a war for the gulab jamun they serve. :) PS: Kindly like the review if you find this helpful. Thank You

We had pakoras and Chai alongwith coconut burfi at this place and i must say that this unique restaurant is a must visit for anyone in Seattle. Great food variety, huge quantity and superb quality and not to forget awesome service . They are favorite with locals and for us visitors, this place turned out to be such a delightful finding. I wish we would have stayed here long so that we could relish their each and every dish on the menu. Must, must, must visit this restaurant

So, unfortunately my husband and I also had the same experience as several other customers in this thread. My husband and I had dinner here tonight. We asked for a Janta Thali, and then asked for roti's as the thali didn't have any. I walked up and asked them to give us the remaining food items from a full thali and charge us for a full thali instead. The waitress said "I will think about that and see what they can do and let you know". I expected her to come and inform me what they had decided to do, give us two roti's or give us the remaining items from a full thali. She didn't come back and instead an elderly man from the kitchen came and gave me two rotis. My husband and I thought, ok this means they won't give us the full thali and started eating. Within thirty seconds, she came back with the remaining items and said "you get what you ask for". We said this is a misunderstanding and now we have way too much food, but she literally walked away. We let this all go. We calmly ate our food and then asked for the bill. Once the bill arrived, my husband and I decided to not tip as the food was miserable, undercooked and not tasty at all. We decided to not make any issue and instead got up and left and waited at the door for our Uber. As we were waiting , two other ladies came in and asked us for an opinion and we said the food is great and we come here often. The waitress told the two ladies the restaurant was closing in 30 min and the ladies wanted to have a relaxed dinner and hence asked us for a recommendation nearby for any other Indian restaurant. We talked and the ladies left. As soon as they left, the male waiter looked at my husband and me, called us a* and then said "don't ever come back here". Then to our absolutely dismay, the male waiter took out his phone, took a photo of us and when we confronted him to delete it, went on to threaten us that he was going to submit our photo online and make sure no restaurants ever welcome us in Seattle. We requested him very kindly to delete our photos at which he threatened to show me some erotic photos on his phone, or show me other jerks like us and that's when we were done. My husband and I told him we are calling the cops right away. On hearing this, they rambled about how they had a right to photo shoot anybody in their restaurant since it is a public place. (directly aim at someone and take their picture is ok?!) We have gone ahead and lodged a police complaint of harassment against this waiter and waitress and hope that they pay for their racist acts and behavior. This was pure discrimination and abuse and have never faced something like this before in our lives. After almost 3 years of going here and loving this place for it's variety and authenticity of the food, we are so sorry to say we will never go back here again and strongly advise everyone else to do the same.

One star because I have to rate, else it...

Tl;dr - spider in my lassi (drink). Gross! And the staff (servers) threatened me and my friend to not make a fuss about it and leave if we wanted a free meal. No apologies about the spider because the doors are open and "nature happens". Yup! That's exactly what they said.

Okay so on a Friday evening (today), my friend and I (we are both Indian so we wanted to try out a different restaurant than our regular spots) decided to go and get some dinner here. It was a summer evening so kind of a busy evening. We went there and got seated. We ordered a thali and 2 lassis.

We waited quite a while and finally got our food (understand coz it was a mildly busy evening). I got the salt lassi and while I was drinking it,  there was a frickin spider in the lassi!!! Immediately took it to the server and her response was "okay" and she took the glass in.

No apologies , no shocked/sorry reaction,  nothing. Like it was totally okay to have a frickin spider in the lassi. My friend and I lost our appetite after this and decided to leave and we asked for a check.

They billed us for EVERYTHING including the lassi with the spider. No kidding ! So we decided to go and talk to the other person there and he seemed to understand us and was like "what seems fair to you guys?" We said with the way we were treated, atleast a free meal.. and he goes .. okay .. walk away .. and we were like "it would be nice if you guys acknowledged that there was a spider and said sorry for the bad experience " and he was like "alright pay the bill.. it's no longer a free meal for you guys.." at this point my friend and I just decided that they had no intentions of delivering proper customer service so we just walked out. We were like , "this is bad treatment and we wouldn't prolly come back" and the guy was like "good.. so just walk away..."

The place might have interesting options on paper and some might even taste okay.. but I would NOT go here. It's obviously unhygienic (I mean spiders in drinks...) and they don't even seem to care enough to fix it.. so.. yeah no! We would have been okay paying the entire bill if they acknowledged it and tried to fix it but yeah.. they really were like just get out and don't expect anything more. There are many other better Indian food places around Seattle.

Awesome food. Now this is a tiny place with big flavours oozing out of the dishes. Its a home converted into this restaurant. Reasonably priced and again its BIG on flavours. I just wished I had met the chef because it was really authentic food. The staff was attentive and pretty nice. We had ordered Pakodas too and this was the first time I had tasted a broccoli pakoda. I loved the taste. We were a large group of 7 people with 3 kids, we got a nice & cozy table, mango lsssi was refreshing. I ordered a Thali which looked like it was going to leave me hungry, but surprisingly it was just perfect quantity. My daughter ordered an Aaloo parantha, now that wasn't really enough. I had to come back home and make another one for her. My husband had uttapam which was soft, well cooked and very tasty. Highly recommend this place. Not giving 1 star because, i still had to cook after...
