I am utterly disappointed in the Seattle Union Gospel Mission. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a sham masquerading as a Christian organization. During my time there from April to August, I was appalled by the lack of genuine care and support provided.
Not once did any staff member offer me a ride to ensure my safety when I had to move to a new location, despite having several vans in the parking lot. It was crystal clear that their priority was getting bodies to do chores rather than genuinely helping individuals in need.
The so-called caseworker I met with twice during my stay was completely disorganized and unhelpful. The overall atmosphere was chaotic and marked by a high turnover rate among staff members.
Seattle Union Gospel Mission, you have failed miserably in your mission to provide compassionate and effective aid to those seeking assistance. Your façade of faith-based values crumbles under the weight of your insincerity and neglect. I implore others to steer clear of this organization and seek...
Read moreThis place is absolutely horrific even if a person is not involved in domestic violence any loved one that's associated with the one that goes their husband boyfriend or not they manipulate them into believing they are predatory people and break up marriages and lives then they say they help him with housing and stuff and if it's not housing within their association they wait extended amounts of time for shelter on their own they make them to where they cannot provide without their organization and they make themselves work highly good the general public for nonprofit organizations so they can bring funding in. They took him my wife's phone devices from them they're manipulating her into trying to break our marriage up and will not allow her to use her phone. My wife suffers from mental health issues and they are manipulating that and controlling that and she's a vulnerable adult. Shame on this place for being a christ-centered program it's...
Read moreA couple of years ago I called for help after having been sort of stranded in the Seattle area. I had money but there were no hotels or motels available. I was in a really bad state having had just visited my dying mother. I'd been drinking and was so sad I wanted to die. When 911 transferred my call (because it wasn't a life threatening event) I told of my situation and the woman on the phone asked if I'd been drinking. I was honest. She suggested I go sit in a coffee shop and sober up. Real nice.
Had she just offered up a place to stay for the night, which I believe is what missions are there for, I'd have likely written a big fat check once I did sober up. I have no way of proving that, but I'm a nice person that way. Fortunately I found kindness from a couple of strangers, one who let me spend the night in his storage unit. I wish I could locate those two people as I'd love to say how much I will never...
