We stopped in for a late lunch, early dinner and the restaurant was pretty empty, they asked if we were vaxxed and then seated us.
It's been a long time since I've eaten Chinese that wasn't Szechuan style, and Foo Lam did not disappoint, though I will say that the items marked as spicy on the menu weren't really spicy, and while that would usually be a disappointment, it was flavorful enough to make up for it and meant my 3 year old could have some and since my parents were with us, it was also nice that spicy wasn't really spicy since my step mom has a rather bland palate preference. Plus they had chili oil on the table so we could spice it up as needed.
The prices were really reasonable too and plenty of food to go around. 4 adults and 1 toddler, we ordered 3 meat entrees (Mongolian beef, general Tso's chicken, and honey walnut shrimp), house fried rice, sizzling rice soup, and egg rolls.
We will definitely be back to try more dishes since they were really tasty and affordable. We stuck to pretty standard fare given my stepmom's picky and very American food preferences and I'm excited to try thier...
Read moreI wanted to give a new place a try so my family and I made a sizable order to try a variety of items(general Tao’s chicken, honey chicken wings, salt and pepper chicken, green beens. Honey walnut shrimp, steamed rice, green onion chicken, Singaporean fried rice noodles, a variety of items). The biggest surprise was the green onion chicken. 🐔 it actually had the head in there. I didn’t expect that. There was a lot of breading on the generals chicken and the honey chicken wings. I didn’t like the honey walnut shrimp at all. I was most excited for the green beans but they were also underwhelming, but good. The rice noodles were flavorful but I wasn’t sure about the meat. I realize that this review isn’t favorable, but it’s my true experience. We spent a lot of money to not at all be satisfied...
Read moreI have never had a restaurant demand we tip more. How about giving us an itemized receipt instead of just demanding we up the tip amount. Our party wasn’t even that large. The majority of our food was cold and the service was mediocre. You just dropped pork on our table without asking us if we wanted it. We asked if it was fresh and you said yes but it clearly wasn’t since it too was cold.
The interaction at the end was just odd and off putting. We explained why we tipped the amount we did and suggested the owner come talk to us so we could further explain, since they were inquiring as to why, but you just dismissed us. Would...
