NEVER AGAIN. I started going to L&W in Queen Anne back in 2020 and the experience down there was great, but then Ciera, who worked with me and was WONDERFUL and introduced me to sugaring, left which turned out okay because I moved too. I moved back to Seattle 2 years ago and decided to give the Greenlake location a try. The first time was last year and I thought I was going to go ahead and swear off of sugaring after that. The person I worked with was young and really didn't seem to have much experience with sugaring. Without going into too much detail, there was a point where she got stuck.... I literally started sweating on the table because we were both stressed. But for some dumb reason, thinking lightning can't strike twice, I tried again today.
After this experience I am officially investing in Laser Hair Removal instead.
I paid $130 to be tortured.
The tech was 10 mins late and I was about to walk out, and I wish I had because I would have saved myself money and protected my brain from unnecessary cortisol flooding. I have to assume that she also had no idea how to work with sugar. She went SO FAST so the sugar was just grasping the tips of the follicles rather than the going slow and letting the sugar actually grasp the base of the hairs to pull them out effectively and efficiently. I feel like it would have been less painful to just sit there and pluck each hair one by one on my own. Suffice to say, my abs are literally sore from clenching for as long as they did. I've been sugared by a handful of people on both coasts so I have had GREAT experiences (the best ones are the ones who have done it on themselves), but the worst were here. I am sure their other services are great but SKIP THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SUGARING SERVICE.
Edit, in response to the owners response: Carol, I sent you an email via the “contact us” button on the website with more in-depth feedback from the experience bc I didn’t feel comfortable speaking...
Read moreNot happy, it gave me a bad facial infection, which I struggled to fix for the past year. I was struggling with acne and my dermatologist recommended I chose a salon for facials, but with the mention that the beautician would make sure to close my pores and disinfect face well. I don't know what they did, because breakouts are normal in acne treatments, but I got a very bad infection, from not properly closing the pores.
The beautician, tried pushing their products (Cosmedix), even though she knew I was under the care of a Dermatologist. She even said that my dermatologist might not be up to date with these "new technologies". Except he was and is, I just needed a facial from them, not a product recommendation.
I also tried a dermaplanig at this salon at the recommendation of the beautician(which my dermatologist told me it shouldn't have been recommended), which ended up being done in about 15min and I left with minor cuts on the face. The treatment was supposed to last at least 30min where the lady should have taken her time to not cut me with the sharp scalpel, but she rushed so much.
I will not come back and I won't recommend this salon to anybody to...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE! They overcharge you on purpose!!!
I wanted to try this new place since I didn't have many options for booking a last-minute lash appointment, but I deeply regret it. First of all, she was 20 minutes late to our appointment because she was walking her dog. I had somewhere else to be afterward, so I didn’t want to risk being late. Secondly, she left in the middle of the service to do something else. It was incredibly disappointing from a time management standpoint.
When I first walked in, she asked me if I was getting a full set, without knowing the exact price range of the service I’d be receiving. I think it's their job to provide clear and honest information, such as “the price will be different, are you okay with that?” Unfortunately, none of this was communicated, and I ended up being charged $350 for a poor job. How am I supposed to know difference of price range between Master vs SR on top of my head as a first time customer? You can see in the photo that my lash lengths don’t even match. I didn’t have enough time to argue at that moment due to my next appointment but for sure never visiting this place again. Highly recommend to...
