This review is somewhat directed at the Seekonk store, and somewhat directed at corporate. I ordered an item online, and received a confirmation that the item was in stock in Seekonk and that I could pick it up next day. I was to receive a confirmation email from the Seekonk store as to time that I could arrive for curbside pickup. The next day arrived, and I still had not received that final email. I called the store and spoke to the manager who informed me that the item was actually not in stock and that it would take nearly a week to arrive if there were no shipping delays. He offered to hold the order in the system because I needed the item immediately and wanted to consider my options. Later that night, I decided not to get it. The store was closed, so I visited the corporate website, and found no way to cancel the order online, but instead found a phone number to dial regarding online orders. No surprise, the line was not answered, and I was prompted to leave a message. I did not receive a reply to the voicemail I left until 2 business days later in the form of a return voicemail. The person who left the voicemail was barely articulate, and directed me right back to the Seekonk store. So today I called the store to cancel the order. The sales associate asked me questions, and then kept acknowledging me with "okay" (as in to continue, but then would stop me to repeat the steps over again. The first time I gave my credit card number to initiate a refund, he told me the card was invalid (even though it was the card on the order). It took him two more tries before the manager interceded. I find it egregious that Batteries & Bulbs accepts payment for items it claims are in stock when they are actually not in stock, and more egregious that I should have to spend so much time and effort on what should have been an inexpensive get-in-and-out type of purchase. I suggest that the associate be provided more training in customer service, and that Batteries & Bulbs should have a more accurate inventory...
Read more5/5 stars for lying. 0/5 stars for customer service December 2017: I brought my beats solo headphones to Batteries + Bulbs to get the broken headband fixed. I was told that they could be fixed and would be done within the following week. 2 weeks later: Josh, the store manager, called and told me that the headphones had been irreparably broken while being fixed by an employee. Not great news since I had a 6 hr flight in 3 days and would need them on the flight. He immediately offered to issue a gift card for the value of the broken beats. Awesome! I replaced them myself in expectation of this gift card.
In hindsight Josh had no intention of actually issuing this gift card. Since he made the offer, I have made countless phone calls, visited the store, and supplied my mailing address all for this elusive gift card. Most recently he promised to send the card a month ago when I resorted to emailing corporate. I was told he would call when the gift card was mailed and asked to check in when received. Yet on the 1 year anniversary of my unwanted relationship with Batteries + Bulbs I have no gift card and no call from Josh.
I can tolerate broken headphones and the cost to replace them. The lies, inconveniences, and wasted time...
Read moreMy daughter came downstairs in a panic that her phone didn’t charge overnight and it shut off due to a dead battery. I made an appointment for that morning at the genius bar at the local ‘fruit’ store and they diagnosed a bad logic board. They told me the phone was dead and because it was old, it was time to replace it - absolutely nothing they could do for me. Meanwhile, the symbol keeps showing the screen that the battery was dead – how can that be a bad logic board?? They refused to at least try to replace the battery so that I could get the latest backup. I left there completely disgusted and went straight to Batteries Plus in Seekonk. Within 5 minutes, they diagnosed a charge port issue, replaced it and the phone booted back up after a few minutes of charging. Nothing was lost, my daughter was ecstatic and now the phone does nightly backups to the cloud. Thank you!!!
Updates....I continue to be impressed by Batteries Plus! Diagnostics, Screen replacements, Batteries, Repairs, etc... Always great service, knowledgeable people, courteous, professional and friendly. A continued Thank You!!!
