We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights over the Labor day weekend, so the rates were pretty high. We do not stay at Best Westerns, we normally stay at the 3-H hotels (Hampton, Hilton, Hyatt), so to compare this to those hotels is not fair. However, there aren't many hotels in the Seekonk area to choose from and we found ourselves having to stay here. 3 of the 5 nights we did not sleep, but the other 5 nights were fine. Here are the pros and cons that I found in the hotel.||Pros:|- Super good area for eating, shopping and central to Providence and Bristol / Warren.|- Off the main rd (Rte 6) so you don't get the traffic noise like the other hotels.|- Clean (but somewhat dated) rooms.|- Breakfast is wonderful. We don't normally eat breakfasts in hotels, but this one was exceptional.|- Coffee & tea 24/7 in the lobby.|- Employees are excellent and friendly. Desk staff all very friendly and accomodating.|- Bathroom clean, adequate and functional.||Cons:|- First and foremost, the pillows. They are small, square-shaped and flatten out to a pancake no matter how many you use. We asked for more, had 8 pillows between us and it was still uncomfortable. The bed itself was very comfortable, they are one step away from a good night sleep.|- Desk clerks sit in an office, sometimes with the door shut. No one at the front desk most times, you can ring the bell and someone will appear. Feels weird at night with people coming and going, even though I know they are watching from behind the door. Someone should be there visible at all times (in my opinion of course).|- Small complaint; TV remote was not the one for the actual TV. It was a universal remote which would not allow access to the menu. You had to scroll through all of the channels to find what you want (all SD channels and then all HD channels). This was very time consuming and primative for a hotel.||On the 3 nights we didn't sleep. There was a high school party (all girls) and of course they were assigned to the 2 rooms across from us. You would think to put this party out of the way of the public. So for 6 hrs, and 3 calls to the front desk, the prty went on. The desk came up once that we know of, and warned them, but when he left, they continued to yell and scream about the way they were being treated. This went on until 1am, and they started up again at 6am. We were about to ask to be moved, but we were told they were leaving. The other 2 nights one couple decided to argue over a bottle of wine for about 3-4 hrs, and the third night the people above us decided to run around the room and drop things on the floor in the wee hours of the night (1am-3m).||They seem short staffed - but it works well for what they have and offer. Shout out to the female employee who has roles of desk clerk, cook, laundry cleaning, and general cleaning. She was very nice and a hard worker which tells me they are short handed. Overall, it is a very nice stay IF you don't get the people who just don't care whether or not you get sleep, which I know the hotel can't predict. They were very good to us, and as I said, the breakfast is top notch and they are very...
Read moreAs soon as we opened the door to our room all we could smell were feet, the rug was absolutely filthy with stains everywhere and it did not look like it had been cleaned it quite some time. The desk clerk did give us another room and it was definitely a lot cleaner. i don't know why the room cleanliness would vary so much but it did. Also, after the first night of sleeping there i woke up with 2 bites on the back of my arms that looked like bed bug bites according to internet pictures i looked up. the only other thing that was wrong in the 2nd room was when my daughter turned on the hair blow dryer a flame shot out, luckily it was not pointed at her head at that time. Anyway, i obviously showed the desk clerk the bites, told them of the dryer issue also, and they said the manager would call us when they came in at 3 p.m. that day so of course no phone call, so i called at around 6 p.m. that same day and the assistant manager answered and said pest control was coming in the next day to check out the room and that the manager would call me after pest control came, no phone call as of yet and it is 2 days later. Needless to say i am giving them a terrible review. I will never stay there again. A ridiculous $120 a night for filth and...
Read moreThe staff is lovely. The rooms.. I noticed things weren't super clean. The body wash, shampoo, and conditioner that is supplied by the hotel in their showers, is not cleaned, or at least not in the room we stayed in. The mini fridge is a quarter of the size you will be expecting. The advertisement for queen beds, well I think that's incorrect we have a queen bed at home, I think it is a FULL size bed and has been mislabeled in the hotel.
Other than that it was pretty good. Pool is a salt water pool, got an exercise room, smoke area is outfront and the cig stampers is behind the plants on the wall - I'm sure you'll need a cig within 5min.
Also the TV was a huge pain with the remote. The remote doesn't work like a normal remote, you can't go into guide and go down the list. There's no pay per view. Or rentals. So needless to say we and our 4 yr old were kinda bored so we spent a bit of time...
